Cavs get it done!
February 6, 2008Signing Day Dud
February 6, 2008Though we know that the number one recruit in the country has narrowed his choice of school down to three (Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State), it looks like we will be waiting longer than anticipated to find out the “winner” of the Terrelle Pryor lottery. The Tribune-Review reports early this morning that though today is the first day that soon-to-be freshmen can sign a letter of intent with their University of choice, Pryor will not be doing such.
“I’m 100 percent sure I’m not signing,” Pryor said. “It’s a tough decision and I’m still trying to decide between Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State.”
Pryor did say he has eliminated Oregon and told the Oregon coaches the school was too far from home. Pryor said he’ll probably make a visit to Penn State.
Its obvious that Pryor’s big priority is to be at least close to home. I’m not sure on the milage, but I think Columbus has a slight edge on Ann Arbor in that department. The Tribune-Review also reports that his father said that Terrelle is not concerned about playing right away – also something else that benefits the Buckeyes. The ball is well in Pryor’s court, so it is just a matter of when he’s ready to make the move.
Very big win for the Cavaliers last night. Not only did the team go to battle without Sasha Pavlovic and Anderson Varjejao, but it appears that they may be missing Drew Gooden for a few days after the bearded forward left early in the second half with a groin strain. This sort of injury is something that the team will want to monitor closely, as they cannot afford a setback. It looks like the paint will be property of Big Z for the forseable future. And yes, that’s Ira Newble with 15 points. Double figures. Ira freaking Newble. Well done, sir.
It looks like the Miami Heat are in the process of making a huge move in dealing Shaqulle O’Neal to the Phoenix Suns. The other side would be sending statistical monster Shawn Marion and point guard Marcus Banks back to Miami. Of course, this is all pending a physical, and with O’Neal…you never know. Shawn Marion’s fantasy owners are likely looking for their nearest ledge right about now.
And finally, folks, its Arena Football time in Cleveland and Bernie couldn’t be more enthusiastic. Just not sure why the PD is calling him “blind.”
Have a good Wednesday.

Yeah, Columbus is closer than Ann Arbor is. It’s looking more and more like this is down to OSU and PSU.
