03/26 Minute: More Roster Moves
March 26, 2008Wham with the right hand!
March 26, 2008You have to love when you scroll down game recaps from the night before and you find something like this:
Drew Gooden was Chicago’s MVP on Tuesday, racking up 31 points, 16 rebounds, and a block in a win over Atlanta. His points were a season high and his boards tied a season high. Eight of Gooden’s rebounds came on the offensive end as he helped keep alive Chicago’s slim chance of making the playoffs. The bearded forward has arguably been the team’s best player since the Ben Wallace trade.
In my best “Church Lady” voice, all I have to say is “Well, isn’t that special.” Who knew that Chicago’s post presence was so bad that Gooden was an upgrade? I know that both teams were happy with the trade, but eight offensive boards? Nice work, Drew. I wish we could have had a 31 and 16 game (or two) when you were a little bit further East, that’s all. Now, just wait until he throws one of his new teammates under the bus. Kirk Hinrich, you’ve been warned.
