Exclusive: WFNY Sits Down With Terry Pluto
June 4, 2008Who Are These Guys?
June 5, 2008We knew that Tom Mastny would be getting sent back to Triple-A Buffalo, it was just a matter of time. It turns out that he’ll have someone to talk to on the bus ride, as reliever Jensen Lewis was also demoted – hopefully to work on that awful WHIP of his. In return, the Tribe announced the two men that will be called up to bring the roster back to its 40-man limit.
CLEVELAND, OH — The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has recalled RHP BRIAN SLOCUM and purchased the contract of RHP RICK BAUER from the AAA Buffalo Bisons.
Some of you have been calling Rick Bauer’s name for a while now. And given the state of the bullpen – especially following an outing that saw our starter last an inning and a third – Bauer will get a chance to put up some numbers as early as tonight. He has an ERA of 1.54 and has struck out 30 in 23 and 1/3 innings pitched. Quite a difference from some of the numbers currently coming out of the pen, eh?
And for those of you wondering what is up with Jeremy Sowers, he’s still recovering from his seven-inning outing from Sunday. Don’t be surprised if he’s up with the Tribe by the end of next week. Especially now that there are rumors of Jake Westbrook being spoken in combination with Mr. Thomas John. That would be a huge blow to this squad given the way that Jake came into the season. But, for now… we’ll just have to wait and see.
(Oh, and join our Facebook page. John Adams says so!)

Bauer is in to close the game and has given up 3 runs so far. Good thing our offense produced tonight and we were up 15-6 to start the inning.
Bauer closed the game and gave up 3 runs but its a good thing the offense….ah forget it.
let’s hope the offense keeps this up after texas. then we can worry about pitching, the one thing we thought we wouldnt have to worry about.
