What Do We Want For Blake?
July 24, 2008LeBron James Guarantees Gold; Not a Good Move
July 24, 2008…or not so much confidential as a look around the net to see what others are saying about day 1 of camp.
The OBR’s Lane Adkins files his first report from camp, including crowd reaction, injury updates, and quotes from players and coaches. It looks like Phil Savage is in mid-season form-
On released WR Eric Parker- Savage noted the Browns were not interested in recently released San Diego Chargers wide receiver Eric Parker at the present time. Coming off a toe injury last season, Parker is not healthy yet and most likely would not be ready to go for a few more weeks.
On the Browns back-up RB situation- The Browns GM also said he liked the quality and depth of the running backs behind starter Jamal Lewis and would like to see more of Jerome Harrison on the field in the 2008 season. Harrison spent considerable time working on his receiving skills during the off-season.
The PD’s Tony Grossi is the latest to write the ‘there is no QB controversy’ story. Seriously, we get it. Even if you are a Browns fan that would prefer to see Quinn start, you are probably well aware by now that it isn’t happening right now.
Speaking of QB’s, Terry Pluto diagnoses what Derek Anderson must do if the Browns are to be successful this year. By successful I hope he means win the division.
Anderson told the Beacon Journal’s Marla Ridenour the secret to his off-season training-
”I was throwing and running and lifting with my best friend,” he said. ”I was doing Thai massage with this lady in Portland, which was amazing. She’s pretty well-known, she works on a lot of ‘Blazer guys. Flexibility is something I’ve been working on. She worked on me a little bit too much at times; she was killing me. Getting the body right and ready for the season was kind of my deal when I went back.”
Just for the record, I had a massage in Thailand once. Painful yes, helpful definitely.
Nice breakdown by Chris at Dawgs By Nature, who had his eye on several things at practice. IMO Chris did the best job of detailing what happened on day 1.
