And Now, Something Else…

Hey Cleveland fans, feeling a bit bogged down by what’s going on in Berea? There is an antidote. It is called Cavalier basketball, and it is getting ready to hit full stride!

Last night the Cavaliers continued the preseason tune up against the Philadelphia Sixers. The Cavs won 91-83, with LeBron James resting the entire 4th quarter. James had 20 points, Gibson 17 and Mo Williams 13. Sasha Pavlovic got hot in the 4th quarter to seal the win for the Cavs.

Ben Wallace played 34 minutes. More than likely he played so many minutes because of foul trouble on Zydrunas Ilgauskas, but with his back condition is it a good idea for him to play so much in a preseason game? Mike Brown had to like his effort, as well as the rest of the team on the defensive end. Brown said the Cavs played “much better” half court defense in this one.

So, I call your attention to Friday night, WFNY readers. The Cavs are playing an exhibition game against the Wizards. (Anyone remember this guy?) They are playing the game in Columbus, and WFNY is going to be there. Well, half of us are going to be there. So, if you have any interest in talking Cleveland sports with Scott, Dan or myself, come on down to the game. It starts at 8:00. We’ll be meeting at the Buffalo Wild Wings on the corner of Lane and High before the game. Come say hi and get your mind off the troubles of the Browns! At the very least come and boo Stevenson back to Washington!

No, I’m going out of town this weekend…

Love it! Can’t wait for Cavs basketball. Anyone know how much it is for the NBA pass to watch all the games on TV. I’m spoiled compared to other teams since Lebron came to the Cavs which puts them on like once a week down here, but I want to watch them all!

    Oh DeShawn…

…I was in the DC subway the other day and I saw a sign for the Wizards that had “Washington Wizards: Character, Commitment, (can’t remember last one)”, with a picture of Caron Butler and DeShawn Stevenson. I just looked at DeShawn and chuckled. “Character,” gimme a break…character of a 7th grader.

CJG, it’s actually on their team page as well. I think the “flash” version has Jamison instead, though… I thought the exact same thing.

    NBA League Pass is $169.

Rock, what had me shocked is that the NHL package is about the same. Did hockey really make that much of a comeback?

  • http://justrubsomesugaronit.blogspot.com I’m Ron Burgundy?

Don’t call it a comeback – hockey’s been there for years.

As much as I’d love to be on campus and go to a preseason Cavs/Wizards game I’ll have to be satisfied by the games in DC.

WFNY Nights in DC, Jan 4th and April 20th-ish for Cavs/Wizards.

Deshawn “I can’t see the second round” Stevenson will be there.

rick – have fun at the game. i have one request. you, or someone who is a cavs fan, MUST start the following chant if and when DeShawn gets to the free throw line.
    “Sta-tu-tor-y (clap…clap…clap, clap, clap)”

i was disappointed such a chant didnt come out during the playoffs last year. its just too obvious!

  • tom

oh – and repeat ad nauseum

I have lots of faith in the Cavs. As a die-hard Clevelander who will always cheer for, yet know the Browns are going to dash my dreams, I have found this is a Cavs team worth getting behind. Hopefully we’ll be treated well again this year…

i would reccomend for any cavs fan to watch the games via sopcast… it’s not the greatest in the world, but it’s nice to have.

plus, i would feel like an idiot paying for the nba league pass knowing the cavaliers have a good quarter of their season on national tv…

i considered switching to directv to get the browns, but passed when i realized that they charge you 300 bucks, plus additional money for high definition, all for what, 9 or 10 games?

these sports packages are a complete ripoff… especially the nhl, they are in no position to charge out the wazoo for their package, and i’m the biggest nhl honk you’ll find.
