I’m sure by now you all have seen the commercials… our boy Braylon Edwards is shilling for 5-Hour Energy drinks: “Yeah, my friend always wants one of mine and I have to say get your own. I’m like the 5-Hour Energy Designated Driver.” How about this, Braylon: how about you spend more time being the 3-Hour Pro Bowl Pass Catcher that we Browns fans saw last year instead of worrying about your endorsement of crappy products?
As I saw the commercial for the first time last night (bonus points to anyone who can find a video of it and send it to me for this post), I found myself shouting (SHOUTING) at the television set. “How about you spend more time catching the [bleeping] ball?”
I then found myself wondering: is the problem really that the Browns have had (and will continue to have) so many late-kickoff games this year? I mean, think about it. Edwards has one TD catch this season, and it was in the only game that featured a 1:00 PM kickoff time. Is Edwards popping his 5-Hour Energy shot at 11 AM each week, only to see its effects wear off by 4:00 PM, thus making them ineffective for the 4 and 8 PM kick-offs? I mean, we know Romeo is infamous for his clock mis-management…
Is Edwards suffering from the dreaded “energy drink crash” in the late games??
Somebody needs to look into this. And, if he’s the “5-Hour Energy Designated Driver” for the team, is the whole team suffering because of this lack of clock management???
