Jake Peavy: Okay, I’ll Consider the AL…

…but only if it is the New York Yankees or Los Angeles Angels.

Honestly, I’m not sure how this guy survives in a small town like San Diego.  I get the fact that this is the point of a no-trade clause, but geesh.  Talk about having baseball by the baseballs.  The line of the article?

Peavy’s agent, Barry Axelrod, said in a recent interview with SI.com that his client has some good feelings about the Yankees. “What kid doesn’t grow up dreaming of wearing the pinstripes?”

Um…this one?

Peavy adds Yankees, Angels to trade list [SI.com]

  • The Bambino

Clearly those teams, along with Boston, have always been on the list because they have lots of monies. Hell, I bet the Padres would be on the list again if they would pay him Zito money.

  • QuickDraw

Agree and disagree. He survived because it’s SAN DIEGO. Between the warm weather and the girls, I’m sure he was just fine.

But for those who don’t grow up dreaming of wearing the pinstripes? Non-yankee fans, jackass. Unfortunately, Barry Axelrod actually exists.

I grew up dreaming of pinstripes – but more because of Scarface and The Godfather than the effing Yankees.

Double-breasted jackets and fedoras baby. yea…

  • Victory

Lol i grew up wishing i could play for the hometown team. I’m not a die hard browns fan but i’d love to play for em cuz you’d be close to home and get a chance to win for your state. I’ma indians and cavaliers fan so i’d love to play for them obviously. San diego is a great place to live. I’d rather live there than new york any day of the week
