Lost in the fact that LeBron James was absolutely dominant in last night’s 14-point win over Chicago was the fact that Zydrunas Ilgauskas knocked down his first three-point field goal in nearly four years. The sixth trey of his career, Ilgauskas can take pride in the fact that he drained more three-balls last night than James, Daniel Gibson, Sasha Pavlovic and Wally Szczerbiak combined.
Or, the above mentioned players should be ashamed that they made fewer threes than the seven-foot Lithuanian…either way.
Ilgauskas has been in double-figures in each of the five games this season. He has now rattled off back-to-back double-doubles, and has four straight games with two blocked shots. The best part is that the big man hasn’t had to play more than 31 minutes on any night thus far, hopefully preserving his health for the long haul.
Keep it up, big guy.
