Your Eastern Conference Scoring Leaders…

Quick thoughts:

- Click on the image for the full size

- Is this the same team that “had no offense” less than a year ago?

- The other side of the coin, we’re barely allowing 90 points per game.  And that’s usually including 12 minutes of garbage time

- Nearly a 14 point per game margin of victory per game.  Astounding.

- ESPN uses “The Diff” too!

Pretty amazing what a difference adding a true PG and having a SG who understands his role in the offense makes, huh?

Most teams are good offensively or defensively. It is stunning to think that the Cavs are number 1 in both categories…

Interesting how NY and NJ are 2 and 3 on that list – and both teams are about as likely to appear in the playoffs as the Browns.

I guess Mike Brown’s emphasis on ‘D’ is paying dividends.

    Welcome back guys

KM – that’s where the Diff comes in…

Now all the Cavs need is a super cheesy moment to cap the season, a la KG screaming “anything isss… possiblllllllleeeee”

A big welcome back to WFNY. I was starting to get the shakes.

Anyways, this season has been ridiculous so far. The craziest part is that as good as our record currently is, this team is still gelling. The offense is still improving and so is the defense. They are getting better and better with each game. Don’t get me wrong, each game offers a new set of challenges, whether it be matchups, xfactor players, or in last nights case, trigger happy refs. But to me, what has been most remarkable is how quickly the cavs right themselves in the face of adversity. Its not just how quickly they can shift gears (like last nights 3rd quarter bulldozing) but also how many gears they appear to have. It seems like no matter what problems they come up against, they adjust their game, and then proceed to dismantle the opposing team. They can win in so many different ways. and i just can’t get over how much faster we are compared to last year. not just the addition of Mo and brotha red moving to the 2 spot, but even our standard big men seem quicker and more agile, Andy especially. This team is quick and powerful and its providing JJ and Darnell with the perfect environment to grow while winning at the same time.

The movement of the ball and players without the ball on offense has been tremendous to watch this year. Kind of reminds me of the last great Kings teams that had everything run through Divac and Webber on the high post. Everything just looked so fluid around them and was fun to see executed.

That’s just the Eastern Conference, was that intentional?

    Not intentional…thanks for the catch

Well, the thread title *is* “Your EASTERN CONFERENCE Scoring Leaders…”

And yes, you should ingore me, since I assume the title was edited to reflect this. In other words, nevermind. :-)

Hah! The Diff. I was at a Hawks game last weekend, and was totally dumbfounded by the necessity to subtract, you know, 65 from 68. I complained loudly that Philips Arena needs a Diff. This did not help Cleveland’s reputation.

I’m headed to Cavs/Hawks on Saturday. Unfortunately, my Damon Jones 2007 throwback has not yet arrived in the mail.

I love what the Cavs are doing, so don’t take any of this the wrong way, but….
we haven’t really played anyone yet. During this winning streak, the only respectable teams we beat were a Denver team days after acquiring Chauncy Billups, and an Atlanta team sans Josh Smith, arguably their second best player. Yes, the Cavs have been playing an efficient brand of basketball not seen since the early nineties, and yes, the recent streaks have been amazingly fun to watch. But the bottom line is that all of this should be taken with a grain of salt until we play more top-tier opponents. I can’t wait till Boston visits the Q in January; that should be a great litmus test.
