Josh Barfield Makes Tribe Roster; Trevor Crowe Sent to AAA Columbus
March 29, 2009Comeback Cavs Continue Setting Records
March 30, 2009While We’re Waiting aims to be the round-up of the recent WFNY-esque information for your morning viewing. Have something you think we should see? Send it to our tips email in the sidebar.
How good are the Columbus Clippers going to be? “If there were room for Trevor to play once or twice a week, he may have made the team,” said Wedge. “But we’d rather have him go out [to Columbus and] play every day. There is no downside.” Or as assistant general manager Chris Antonetti said: “He is very close to big-league ready. We have three outfielders at Columbus [Matt LaPorta, Michael Brantley and Crowe] and all three could conceivably be ready to help us this season. They all had good camps and give us real depth.” [Terry Pluto/Plain Dealer]

Hopefully, we can put this behind us: “After knocking off Columbus in a shootout on Saturday, the St. Louis Blues completed their weekend home-and-home sweep of the Blue Jackets with a 5-2 win at Nationwide Arena.” [Adam Gretz/NHL FanHouse]

Are the Buckeyes to thank for the Michigan State run? “But when you’re pushing the need for better shots and more aggressive defense – coupled with a general feel that the Spartans were off their game – it’s difficult to get the attention of your players when they can’t remember the last time they didn’t win. So that loss to Ohio State may have been just right.” [Doug Lesmerises/Plain Dealer]

And finally, a graphical look into the mind of Carlos Boozer. Should I play defense? Don’t be silly. [Matt Moore/Hardwood Paroxysm]

Funny flow chart, indeed. Was Boozer that selfish an on-court player in Cleveland? (Didn’t watch many games at the time and so have no recollection.)
Look forward to the WFNY write-up about yesterday’s trouncing of Dallas. After the slow start, the Cavs turned that one into an exhibition-style manhandling of a group of softies. A few minutes into the third period, I could have sworn that I started to hear “Sweet Georgia Brown” piping through the Q.
I’ve never been so excited to watch the Columbus Clippers play, for obvious reasons. Awesome new stadium, awesome new franchise affiliation, and (hopefully) a pretty awesome team. Good stuff.
The Carlos Boozer chart is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.
S-Dub… I like the Notre Dame one better, but the one for Boozer was good too.
