Not so much fun when the tables are turne, eh Boston? “The Celtics (60-20) became champions last season by developing an unshakeable unity from training camp on, a dominant home-court advantage, and a set of stars supported by a diverse group of role players including a couple late-season veteran pickups. They had the best regular season record, shattering records along the way and doing it with a ferocious defensive identity. Shift those circumstances to this season and you have the Cavs’ (65-15) season story, substituting James as the centerpiece, of course. Whether intentional or not, the Cavs have followed the path the Celtics blazed to the NBA title last season right down to a vintage victory song and dance and its irritating effects on the recipients. ” [Brian Windhorst/Plain Dealer]

Just don’t bring up bloggers: “Everyone keeps talking about how he is going to New York. I don’t think so. I think he’s going to stay there. Because of the way the whole global views of things (are now), it doesn’t matter if you play in Cleveland, or whatever. You can be that big a star, he’s got every big commercial there is. What I want to see is, these two guys (Kobe and LeBron) play against each other in the Finals, they go to commercial break, and I want to see who’s commercial comes up first. ” [Mitch Albom via JD Shaver]

The All-American radar: “Malcolm Jenkins’ workout with the Browns will be next Friday, the former Ohio State cornerback said at the Buckeyes’ special teams scrimmage today. The Browns have the No. 5 pick in the April 25 draft. Jenkins said he has already visited the New York Jets (pick No. 17), New Orleans (No. 14) and Denver (No. 12 and No. 18), and he said he’ll be at New England (No. 23) on Monday and Tennessee (No. 30) on Tuesday.” [Doug Lesmerises/Plain Dealer]
