Thanks Adam Caplan – Browns Number 27!
May 14, 2009While We’re Waiting… Cavs/Wizards “Rivalry,” HBO Hard Knocks, and Kobe/LeBron Dreams
May 15, 2009Not much going on tonight, so I thought it would be prudent to have a place to discuss the first game of the series against the Rays.
Tune in to catch the Jhonny Peralta-Third Base experiment! Matt LaPorta will be in right field, batting eighth. Luis Valbuena will hit ninth and play second. With Asdrubal Cabrera playing short, Mark DeRosa will be your first baseman for the evening, hitting sixth.
Shin-Soo Choo will be your DH, Ryan Garko will have the night off. He’ll likely be an option off of the bench, along with Kelly Shoppach.
Do Enjoy.

well its still early but he did throw out the runner on the bunt in the 1st. maybe i should turn the channel now and just watch the highlight again on sportscenter.
Asdrubal is raking.
this game is making me happy
So here’s my question…did that Choo HR really clock that lady in the head? I’ve got the Tampa feed, and they’re not saying anything about it yet, but I’ve watched it in slow mo on my Tivo…and it seriously looked like that came right down on that lady’s forehead.
Not that it’s funny…but seriously, how do you not see that coming?
9-0 to 9-6….the bullpen strikes again.
Clem, I was wondering the same thing on Train’s HR–after several rewinds, it definitely hits her square on the head: worst. reflexes. ever.
AC is just dominating, with the expected contribution from Vic. Here’s hoping we keep it going all series long. And please, get Grady to either stop imitating Vlad Gurrero, or drop him to the 3 spot.
well the peralta experiment at 3rd seems to be working just fine… 2 in a row boys and girls… almost
@6 or both…
@b-bo…yeah, after some post-game review, that ball clearly blasted her directly on the forehead. I mean, she didn’t even blink until impact. I think this video needs to be on While We Were Waiting… tomorrow morning. 😉
DONT TOUCH WEDGE, JUST LEAVE IT ALONE!!!!
Ok, guys. We’ve won two games in a row. If we win tomorrow tonight, its called a winning streak. IT HAS HAPPENED BEFORE.
@B-bo: I was JUST about to quote that. 🙂
Anyway, here’s a clip instead: http://splicd.com/X2lM6zsv8Yo/244/269
(Hopefully that works, or just watch it starting at about 4:05 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2lM6zsv8Yo)
thats 2! 8 more to go and the 10(+) game winning streak shall be upon us. maybe its the optimist in me (and the beer).
I was a bit skeptical with Wedge’s initial lineup last night, but it seemed to work fine. I have to give it to Wedge for at least trying to mix things up a bit because that’s what this team needs.
Agree with B-bo, Grady at 3, Victor 4 would be a great one-two punch. Victor is ripping the cover off of the ball right now and if Grady can get back to form, this lineup could start to bounce back, hopefully.
I like this lineup. Get the boys who can play on the field. Peralta seems to do better when there is some accountability. Sometimes trying hard (Wedge) doesn’t cut it.
[…] factors. 2 – 3 – 4. Asdrubal Cabrera, Victor Martinez, and Shin-Soo Choo. Never mind that Jhonny Peralta was playing third base and went 1 for 3 with an RBI and 2 walks. Never mind that Mark DeRosa was playing first base and […]
“Every newspaper in the country has picked us to finish last. The local press seems to think we’d save everyone a lot of time and trouble if we just went out and shot ourselves. Me, I’m for wasting sports writers’ time. So, I’d like to hang around and see if we can give ’em all a nice big ****burger to eat.”
