All-Star Break Analysis – The Position Players Part II
July 15, 2009NBA Free Agency: What About Bringing Back Gooden?
July 15, 2009
Tomorrow (Thursday the 16th) many WFNY writers will be taking part in a Cleveland Sports Blog Network outing at Canal Park in Akron. The Aeros are playing the Bowie Baysox, and we will be there to support the best team in the Indians’ organization.
Thursday night also happens to be ‘Thirsty Thursday’ a promotion the Aeros are running all summer. From 6:05 until the end of the third inning all drinks (including draft beers) are just $1 each. The game starts at 7:05, which gives you an hour before the game starts to come and meet the WFNY staff on hand. Others bloggers rumored to be there include Vince from ’64 and Counting (Cleveland Scene), Don Delco from NoLogoNeeded, Brendan from Stepian Rules, and a group from Cleveland Frowns.
We want you to join us. So much so, that we are giving away tickets. The first two people to leave us a comment including the name of the Aeros mascot will get a pair of tickets to tomorrow’s game. After we confirm the winners please send us an email to tips@waitingfornextyear(dot)com and give us your full name so that we can leave the tickets at will call.
That’s it. It’s pretty simple. Hope to see you there!

All drinks that are 12-ounces are $1 until the end of the third inning. Don’t get too carried away Rick.

David Stern is the second winner! Send us an email David so we can get tickets squared away…
Stop by and say hello Nicko- we’re in section 114
Sorry, where do I email you?
Nevermind. I’m dumb.
I will.
I urge you fellas to get in line at the beginning of the 2nd inning or the bottom of the 1st to get your last dollar beer. The line got epic last week about that time and you can easily get screwed out of that last $1 draft.
Can’t wait to meet everyone in person tomorrow. Thanks again, Rick, for pulling this together.
Eli, thanks for the tip. If everybody gets there at 6 though, we might not be so worried about that last $1 draft.
I’ll be there. The nice part is I get to merely walk from my office to get to the stadium. So everyone is congregating in section 114? What time are people getting there?
Well SummitOmar, I’ll be there at 9:00 a.m. But that’s just cuz I work for the silly team that just happens to be 56-35 despite losing seven of their last eight.
Can’t wait to see everyone there!
This should be a good time, I can’t wait for the $1 beers. Oh, and meeting you guys will be fun, too.
Yeah, I plan to arrive at 6 p.m. as well.
Oh, just follow the screams from the women folk think they just saw Brad Pitt … that’ll be me.
If you park in the garage after 6 pm, it’s free. If you get into the deck before 6:00 then you pay. Just FYI, cause it happened to me once. It will be good to meet faces. See you later.
[…] and the gang from Cleveland Frowns for making the trip! In addition, it was great to meet our contest winners, and Omar who read about the outing and came to join us. All told there were roughly 25 of us […]
