I have been finding it difficult to find things to write about. It isn’t something unique to me or anyone else on this site during this time of year. That period of time over the winter after football has ended was certainly much easier around these parts because of the Cavs. But this year, with the daily disappointment of meaningless baseball, it is especially tough to figure out anything to write on this site. At least while also avoiding certain topics that everybody tends to write about to garner traffic with big worthless buzzwords. So a little trip down memory lane to last year. I wasn’t a writer at the site yet. I don’t think DP was on staff yet. I think it was only Rick, Rock and Scott. During this same boring period last year, these were the stories.
The “biggest” news of the day was LeBron James tweaking his ankle with Team USA. As we all know that turned out to be nothing.
Rick covered maybe the first instance of “Would You Bring Manny Back to Cleveland?” type of talk. Keep in mind that this was the middle of another lost season for the Tribe and pretty much nobody actually thought the Indians would ever put up the cash.
Scott had a feel-good story about Josh Cribbs and his brother who inspired him to be as tough a player as he is.
And Scott also reported on a pair of LeBron James shoes.
Not exactly a riveting day of sports news, but that is what we do here. Making the best of bad situations might as well be in the mission statement of this site. What really has me chuckling inside is knowing that this time next year when I look at what we did during this time period last year, I will look at this post where I rehashed the previous year’s stories to show everyone how boring life can be in the sports blogging world. I will be rehashing a rehash. It would be like watching a special episode of “Happy Days” where they play clips of previous shows that featured other clips of other previous shows.
Am I still typing? I think I just fell asleep.
