“LeBron’s latest and greatest shoe was given a proper introduction, as the Nike Air Max LeBron VII was treated to an international reception at the Ed Davis Community Center in Akron on Friday. Before LeBron embarks on a 10-city tour to promote both the movie and the shoe (which both technically premiere in October), Nike and The King himself kicked it off in grand style in James’ hometown.
The day consisted of a buildout, which demonstrated both the history of LeBron’s professional career and the evolution of his Nike kicks, a press conference attended by a litany of media and local youth, and plenty of hoopla.” [Vince Grzegorek/’64 and Counting]

C “The reason I wanted to talk about [Ohio State] football season is because I want to make it known to whomever is in charge that I want to be a part of a long-standing OSU football pre-game tradition. Screw dotting the “i”—I want to be a part of the sign language crew that translates the national anthem for the deaf every home game. I first noticed them at our basketball games and shortly thereafter found out that they do the same thing during football games as well. For obvious reasons, I can’t be a part of the Happy Hands crew during the basketball games, but the football games are a different story.” [Mark Titus/Club Trillion]

I guess we’re still talking about this: “If any NFL player deserves unabashed compassion — you know, such as the kind that is directed toward Vick by his congregation — it’s Stallworth, and this is not to excuse his hideous act. He was suspended indefinitely by league commissioner Roger Goodell for killing a pedestrian in Miami while driving drunk.
That said, in contrast to Vick’s hideous act involving the torturing and the killing of dogs, Stallworth did everything right in the aftermath. He pulled over to the side of the road. He immediately called the police. He told everybody from the start that he was drunk, stupid and wrong. He apologized to the victim’s family. He tried to compensate the family. As a result of his sincerity, he received just 30 days in jail, a couple of years of house arrest, 1,000 hours of community service, eight years probation and a lifetime ban of his driver’s license.” [Terence Moore/NFL FanHouse]

Does Mo Williams still get this Nike commercial spot if he’s in Milwaukee? [Cavalier Attitude]

Ohh Mark Titus.. So silly.
After the comments I made last week involving Vick and Stallworth, I may be leaning towards accepting Donte back in the NFL. Terence Moore certainly does have a valid point. Donte DID do everything right, after the incident, where as I’m not sure many people would have done that. Now I’m on the fence.
No way Mo gets that commercial if he’s with the Bucks. That commercial blew my mind when I saw it. I was surprised he even got a spot.
as long as stalworth is not a cleveland brown i do not mind him coming back..we can do without his 127 yards of reception for the year.
Stallworth also decided to drink, get high, then attempt to drive while under those conditions. That resulted in the death of a person. If it wasnt stallworth, meaning, if it was an avg. person, would they get the time he did? the answer is no. No one else gets only 24 days in jail because they cooperated after killing someone.
Now to compare to Vick. He intentionally, and brutally beat dogs. he held dogs fights. he was in jail for something like 18 months, then a few months in a halfway house, then some house arrest. Would the avg. person get that? the answer is no. there were many others in the dog fighting that got away with a lot shorter sentence. So stallworth killed a person, but is doing about 5% of the jail time that Vick did. How does that work? When did dogs become more important then humans?
As a former ASL student at Ohio State, I love the Best Damn Hands in the Land.
Big ups to Emily and everyone involved.
Just get rid of Wedge.LeBron too.
