    the Browns deserve to lose 16 games if they don’t cut Jamal Lewis and start James Davis. The guy has earned it and it’s only the last preseason game! He’s a threat to break a run whenever he touches the ball and he hits the hole hard, something Jamal USED to know about. Give him the ball!

    C…I’m a huge James Davis fan..but ALL of his good runs have been against 2nd 3rd and 4th teamers….Smart thing would be to use him and Harrison to get th eball to the goal line then use JLew like the bus was used by pissburgh a few years back. Let him be the scorer.

    First, I think Quinn has won the job, but Mangini is trying to get the ‘competitive advantage’ by making MIN at least spend a little bit of time gameplanning for DA.

    Second, I dont really see a need to challenge in preseason. You can see some situational work done now, and the D made a good stand.

    Lastly, you don’t need to cut Lewis in order to start or play Davis. He sure looked good that first drive running, but lets see it in the regular season too. Jamal can still be used on some 1st and 2nd down tries. I just hate seeing that stutter on 3rd and 3.

    Nice punt and Grab!..son of a …..false start… cut ‘em! I’ve asked the questiopn before but why don’t punters just coffin corner every time? Seems like you’d keep em inside the 20 far more thimes then hoping your guy can stop the ball before it hits the endzone.

    I really don’t get the anti-Lewis sentiment. IF they were to cut him we would still take a cap hit, and have you forgotten what it’s like in Cleveland in the late fall/winter? Anyone remember the Bills game that Jamal Lewis practically won by himself?

    Yea, I’m not judging just by what I see here this evening. It just seems like we get picked apart down field no matter who is in.

    Yeah, I agree with Rick – also don’t forget the x factor here, part of the reason James Davis is looking so good is that he has a quality veteran mentor. Lewis and Davis went to the same high school in Atlanta…. he worked out with Davis in the offseason he has really invested time with him. THere is a lot of value to that….
    I think using Lewis in Goal line situations like Betis was is a good role to transition him into…. in NO WAY should we cast him off and cut him, that would be a huge mistake
