“Buckeye fans are, on the whole, a civil militia in all senses of the word civil. Civil in their adherence to rule, to order, to their devotion to Ohio State football. It is complete and undying, as anyone who saw the red horde bellowing for four quarters against USC would attest. […] Perfectly civil people in every respect of the word. They didn’t even punch a Florida fan.” [Orson Swindle/EDSBS]

If Rob Kurz decides to take guaranteed money elsewhere, here’s the best of what’s left to fill out the Cavaliers roster. [Sham Sports]

Stuck would be the appropriate term: “For the most part, Cleveland is stuck with this roster for the remaining 15 games. […] Despite the many changes, the first offering of the 2009 Browns looked very similar to the many losses of the 2008 Browns. It’s probably not what Cleveland wants to hear, but a new challenge could arise to avoid the same losing mentality from taking over, which has happened often since its return to the NFL a decade ago.” [James Walker/ESPN]

The Spot Rusher, blow down the spot for sure/Still break off the block with raw, my stock is more: “I’ve just got one simple question. What is Terrelle Pryor exactly? The answer might be just as simple. The problem is that I’ve got no idea one way or another. After watching Pryor numerous times, I’m not anywhere closer to coming to any sort of definitive opinion of the player.” [Legend of Cecilio Guante]

And a bit of a follow-up from the note above: “Wandering down High St. Saturday afternoon, sauntering a couple of miles to a friendly tailgate, circling the parking lots taking in the scenes and meeting some great people, sluggishly making our way back to our abode for the game — we all agreed, this was a subdued atmosphere.” [’64 and Counting]

What an amazing list of NBA free agents. There are a couple higher priced free agents that would be good additions to the team, but the Cavs will def. look for a lower end free agent to add to the team.
On the James Walker article on ESPN someone actually said that the Browns made a mistake firing Romeo Crennel… I didn’t know ESPN.com was a comedy site.
Craig, obviously James Walker (whoever he is) doesn’t think highly of Mangini, along with the entire NFL. The whole thing is a comedy to THEM.
That free agent list is a joke, I’ve never seen such a list of stiffs. I’d not touch any of them, and it’s clear now why the Cavs focused on Rob Kurz. The only three I’d even consider would be Flip Murray (we know what he can do) or one of the Graham brothers (they both hustle their XXXXX’s off).
The first half showed what the Browns may be capable of under Mangini. The lack of offense and overall depth reared its head in the 2nd half. That’s a personnel issue not a coaching issue and I’m sure it will be addressed over time. People jumping down Quinn’s and Mangini’s throat after 1 bad half of football need to relax.
@Craig: I saw that too and LOL’d. I have to believe he was trollin’ b/c it was clear to every single person in the world, even those w/o television, that ol’ Romeo wasn’t gettin’ it dun.
