February 17, 2010NBA Trade Rumors: It’s Jamison!
February 17, 2010The Cleveland Browns today terminated the contract of running back Jamal Lewis, the team announced.
“I enjoyed getting to know Jamal and having the opportunity to coach him last season,” said Browns head coach Eric Mangini. “We want to thank him for his contributions to the Cleveland Browns and wish him nothing but the best moving forward. I’m sure he will be successful in whatever he decides to pursue.”
This move may have expedited Lewis’ rumored retirement. It also leaves the Browns with only James Davis as a running back under contract. Jerome Harrison is looking at becoming a restricted free agent.

I think JAM parted ways with the Browns after his comments and unofficial retirement during the season.

Thank you. Go stutter step else where.
meh.
It’s well over a year too late.
He gave us a great year in 2007. I sure hope I don’t die with that season being my last great memory of the Browns.
This post could have been titled
“browns throw dirt on the grave”
Were you as choked up as I was reading Mangini’s heartfelt personal goodbye? The guy is just a big softie.
Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good riddance guy was done anyway
He lost my support when he blubbered to the media about the team being worked too hard. Bye bye tippy toes.
Jamal is gone–and soon forgotten,
His start here was strong,
But his fininsh quite rotten.
He could hit like a truck,
If his wheels got un-stuck,
But the smart dough against him was spottin’.
