Method to the Madness: “One of the most consistent criticisms of the Cavaliers during Mike Brown’s tenure as head coach is that they don’t make enough of an effort to run the ball. On the surface, this rhetoric makes a lot of sense. LeBron James in the transition is one of the most unstoppable forces the NBA has ever seen. He was recently voted the fastest player in the league from baseline to baseline, he weighs 260 pounds, and in the open floor he has enough space to avoid any defender trying to draw a charge. The only possible way to stop LeBron in the open floor is to foul him, and even that doesn’t work sometimes. None of this is new information.
Despite the fact they have this weapon, the Cavs rarely attempt to push the ball. They currently play at the 27th-fastest pace in the league; only Miami, Detroit, and Portland play slower than the Cavaliers.
However, when we look at factors other than pace, it becomes apparent that there there are legitimate reasons behind the Cavs’ methodical offense.” [JK/Cavs the Blog]

You can dress ’em… “”The players from the [Ohio State men’s] 1960 national championship team figured they would feel like college kids again at this past weekend’s 50-year reunion. They certainly did, to the point where a fellow hotel guest complained about the noise coming from one of their rooms. Nine players from the championship team were in Dick Furry’s room at The Blackwell hotel late Friday night when they got a knock on the door.” [Bill Rabinowitz/Dispatch]

He’s like Thomas Edison, if Thomas Edison was 6’8″ and 260 lbs. “LeBron James has been positively cosmic this season, even more incredible than in his MVP 2008-09 season. So good has been LeBron that broadcasters have had to invent new statistics to capture exactly what it is the Cavalier does. Such as the “chase-down block,” coined a year ago and in full usage these days.” [Tom Ziller/NBA FanHouse]

If Modell hadn’t moved the team how would Cleveland feel about Ray Lewis?
I don’t know, but it’d certainly feel a lot better about Jamal Lewis.
Don’t know if anybody cares but National Signing Day isint going too well if you’re a Buckeye fan.
LeBron also inspires coining words that singuarily describe his actions. Haters and supporters alike cannot resist adding the prefix Le- to words to describe his play and give his actions ownership.
My favorite moments are when you see him taking it to the rack, it feels like a foregone conclusion and it can leave your mouth agape until after the slo mo replay. Leamazed and Lefinished.

LeBron James: the Patentor
I guess all those national championship losses are catching up with Tressel right now either that or these kids are just being kids and going where ESPN likes to camp out and create story after story i.e. USC, Tennessee, Florida and the rest. I’m ambivalent on seeing HS kids being turned into media stars when these kids are barely old enough to drive, vote and can’t even drink. Somethings wrong but that’s just me.
