LeBron Sure Loves Giving Headphones As Gifts
March 5, 2010Snuggie Night Open Thread: Cavs v Pistons
March 5, 2010ESPN.com’s James Walker is reporting that the Browns have reached an agreement with Pro Bowl kick returner (and arm sock model extraordinare) Josh Cribbs. Cribbs’ deal has been restructured to pay up to $18.5 million over the final 3 years of his contract, with reports surfacing of $7 million guaranteed. We’ll have more details over the weekend, but wanted to get it out while everybody is driving home for the weekend.
UPDATE: Mary Kay Cabot at the Plain Dealer is reporting the following:
It’s worth up to $20 million, including about $7.5 million guaranteed — meaning he’d be the highest-paid special-teamer in the game if he hits all of his incentives. The miminum of the value of the deal is guaranteed money.
“It’s a win-win for everyone involved,” agent Peter Schaffer told The Plain Dealer. “It’s a great statement by the new regime. It shows that the Browns are committed to winning — and that they were willing to take care of their best player.”
So, to recap: Z is reportedly coming back, Cribbs is paid, and we all really have nothing to whine about now. Oh happy day!

How about that…now will Cribbs go on ESPN to thank the Browns or better yet will those fans change their billboard? Watch on his first kickoff return he’ll break his leg – sorry – had to say it! 🙁
Nice way for the Browns to start off the official start of the 2010 season.
Wow. Much more than I expected, but well deserved. Congrats Josh, you deserve it.
holy crap. they shelled out a lot more than expected. at least its better spent than anderson’s was
The Plain Dealer reported the Contract’s max value was 20 million with 7.5 million guaranteed. He can reach max level if he makes the Pro Bowl each year. If he reaches his incentives he will be the highest paid special teamer in the NFL.
I like it, he doesn’t reach his incentives he only gets 7.5 over 3 years. That’s fair.
And if he reaches the million that means he earned it and has an awesome next 3 years.
Good move!
Getting so excited already….the draft is right around the corner
WHAT!?! BUT HE CLEANED OUT HIS LOCKER!!! I THOUGHT ONLY BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO CLEVELAND PLAYERS AND FANS!!!!!
*the 20 million
Every thing is going Cleveland today! Think BronBron might announce he’ll be a Cav next year at some point tonight?
you’re funny….nothing to whine about….silly boy!
We’ll *always* find something to whine about:
Jordan Brown scratched with “right knee soreness.” He had an MRI scheduled for today.
I’m just sayin’….
Sweet.
Now go trade for a QB and cut DA.
Well I sure hope he’s able to take care of his family now…
What chant we now?
Something for LeBron:
Allay Us Man?
how about whining about Boldin to the Ravens.
Cavs Posting/Update please… it’s the highlight of my night.
WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY TOO much. I thought this Heckert/Holmgren braintrust was supposed to be a good thing.
That seems like way too much money for a guy who plays special teams and only at times on offense.
The Baltimore Browns got my man Bolding grrrrrrrrrreat the Cleveland version better improve their secondary now for sure.
Only a 3rd and a 4th for Boldin and a pick from Cardinals man Ozzie Newsome really knows what he is doing.
