2010 NFL Draft: Round 1, Pick 7 – Joe Haden, CB – Florida

Losing out on Eric Berry to Romeo Crennel and the Chiefs, Mike Holmgren and Tom Heckert put their eggs in the basket of cornerback Joe Haden.

For a team that has needs at at least five different positions, it is tough to argue with the selection. However, there were a lot of talks that Haden could have went in the teens of the first round following the combine and his relatively slow 40-yard dash time.

As we mentioned earlier, the Browns were likely looking to make a trade if they could not land Berry.  It appears that the team could not find a trading partner in their 10 minutes on the clock.

With all of that said, Joe Haden is your newest Cleveland Brown.

I am fine with this. Get a great CB from the toughest conference in College FB. Wish we could have traded back. But I am good with Haden.

So who starts at CB this season now that we have 3 starters? Does this mean there’s likely to be a trade in the works?

Good pick. Wish we could have moved down and I am sure we tried given how long we took to make it, but, when you get the best corner in the draft you have to be happy.

Brandon Mcdonald for Big Ben…I can feel it.

Good pick… wanted Berry, but hopefully this guy can be our Revis. I’m not too worried about the overblown poor 40 times and what not.

    “could have went”?

Haden is no Revis but should be better then
    Wright and or McDonald.
