Contest Time!

Raise a hand if you are already sick of LeBron rumors. (RAISES HAND!)

There is really no telling how that situation is going to play out. Nor are there any guarantees on who might be starting the season for the Cavaliers. So we thought we would have a little fun. And what better way to have fun than to turn it into a contest for you the readers!

The contest is simple in theory- name the starting five on opening night for the Cavaliers next season. Make sure you check out who is and isn’t under contract right now for next season. Free agents come and go. Trades happen. This is not the easiest contest to predict. There will be a tie-breaker question as well- how many points will the Cavs score on opening night. As usual with our contests, you get one entry per household. At stake is a pair of Cavs tickets to a game next season. It won’t be the opener, as we will have to wait for that night to determine the winner. We will stop take entries at midnight ET on Friday, May 21. So do your research.

To enter leave your starting 5 in the comments section of this post with the following format-

PG- Player A, SG- Player B, SF- Player C, PF- Player D, C-Player E

Cavalier points on opening night- XX

You may comment after your selections as much as you like. Good luck!

WFNY- Is it too early to post an open forum allowing everybody to discuss who they would like to see the Cavs sign in free agency? I know we’re still two rounds of playoffs and a month and a half away from Free Agency… But we Cleveland fans have nothing else to discuss…. Matt Roth and the Indians… lol. Throw us a bone.
Obviously I would like to hear who you guys would like to see signed.. Maybe an email conversation.. But I would also like to post who I’d like wearing the Wine and Gold, but in the proper forum.. Hope to see it up soon.
    Thanks.

    SF – Wilson Chandler
    PF – Antawn Jamison
    C – David Lee

    Cavs Points – 90

I don’t really think this is what it will be, but if LeBron wants to play with Bosh in NYC, then Lee has to go, Cavs might as well snag him, and Chandler won’t have any minutes behind LBJ so he will go too, I guess. If the question were 2011 starting lineup, I might include Harrison Barnes at SF…

    Best Case Scenario:
    PG: Chris Paul
    SG: Mo
    SF: LeBron
    PF: Hickson
    C: Tyson Chandler
Off the bench: Gibson, Telfair, Jamison, Varejao, Jawad
    Coach: Phil Jackson
(Team wins 70 games, sweeps Bulls, Celtics, Magic, and Lakers en route to NBA title.)

    Worst Case Scenario:
    PG: Brevin Knight
    SG: Dajuan Wagner
    SF: Luke Jackson
    PF: Jiri Welsch
    C: DeSagana Diop
Off the bench: Ejike Ugboaja, Christian Eyenga, Joe Tait, Moondog.
    Coach: Randy Wittmann
(Team wins 17 games, gets #1 Lottery pick)

    Most likely:
    PG: Gibson
    SG: Parker
    SF: Jamison
    PF: Hickson
    C: Brad Miller
Off the bench: Mo, Telfair, Danny Green, Jawad, Varejao
    Coach: Avery Johnson
(Team Wins 41 games, 8th seed in the East, swept by LBJ & Chicago — the ‘B’ stands for Backstabber)
