Interesting pregame routine for Dwight Howard last night. Can’t tell me that there isn’t a little jealousy going on here between Howard and LeBron James…

honestly this irked me a bit….I dunno why maybe it’s may hatred for Dwight…but what is the point of doing it?
I didn’t like it. When my wife asked me “What was that about?” I said “He’s a d—.”
In seeing it again today, I think it’s probably more just him being his usual joking-super friendly self.
Despite all that size, one part of his body must be awfully small.
Dwight Howard seems like a 12 year old who somehow got stuck in a 7 foot body.
definitely doesn’t seem like good-natured mimicry
I think he’s got the same chip on his shoulder than Mo Williams had last year. He’s been vastly under-talked about this year, yet here he is, dominating the NBA playoffs (when not in foul trouble) and helping his team look like the best team in basketball. Also, he’s a big goof – much like Shaq.
So when you put it all together, you get the stolen pre-game ritual (which LeBron stole from KG/MJ).
bizz niche
“A big goof – much like Shaq”… except that Shaq is actually funny.
Granted, I’m a bit of a comedy snob – but Howard doesn’t come across as funny to me. It’s just really bad Disney schtick.
did anyone else have a smile on their face when Dwight got popped in the nose? That had to be some small about of karma for his generous elbows to anyone’s face that happens to be within 4 ft….

I think that’s the point. Magic fans find it hilarious – just like Cavs fans find everything Shaq and LeBron to be hilarious. So perspective is obviously the key here.
I forgot about perspective and the fact that Disney is in Orlando. Smh. And I don’t really find LeBron hilarious, to be honest. Shaq’s funny stuff is in his younger years.
But your point is well-taken. Mainly I just want to have a star athlete on my team that’s full of non-sequiturs. Why can’t I have it all? :[
that is some NWO type stuff right there.
I picture Howard as Bluto in the latter scene in Animal House, looking in the window, just wondering what it would be like to be inside the sorority house.
If he wants to mimic LeBron, why not go for 30/8/8/1/1 every night?
i dont understand how or why dwight howard would think he is vastly under-talked about this year. he is defensive player of the year – again. all nba first team – again. highly considered for mvp – again.
Howard looks super friendly, especially when he’s busy throwing those nose-shattering elbows at people when he gets miffed.
Isn’t imitation a sign of flattery? Who cares.
I’d pay more attention to what Orlando does
on the court then off.
Seeing as most of you are fans of a guy who takes fake pictures and was rapping during a game, what’s wrong with this?
So Trey, which NBA player was LeBron mocking by doing those things?
Looks to me like the guy in the brown suit put him up to it in a friendly way, and it looks pretty casual and innocent.
This is a cheap post.
the look on his face is what irks me…he has a grin on his face that’s “durr…i’m LeBron…I do stupid s*** like this…durr”
Howard will get his…He doesn’t realize that Shaq put up better numbers against better centers…There’s no true centers in the league to combat Howard anymore that aren’t ancient, like Shaq and Z. He has no competition. I’d love to see him try to go against the best in their prime and realize he’s a nobody.
Quick, someone give Matt#2 his money back for this post.
None. In reality, they’re just having fun.
“I’d love to see him try to go against the best in their prime and realize he’s a nobody”
I concede offensively he’d get his ass kicked. Defensively and from a rebounding standpoint, he’d still be one of the best centers.
yes, my money back.
/sorry
I said it in the WWW and I’ll say it again – have any past MVP runner-ups had as much sour grapes as Howard? Get over it man.
I’d love to go to game 1 of the ECF with a poster depicting a baby Howard crying for an MVP trophy. I’d also like the artistic ability to create said poster. And while I’m at it, I’d also like seats close enough that he would actually be able to see said poster.
/gets off Santa’s lap
he was just clowning. it was funny.
The people who get their panties in a bunch over Howard’s
constant need for attention with his antics are just as bad
as Howard. It’s obvious the guy is mentally immature.
Besides this the same people who take offense to LeBron
being dispariged will be the same ones who will be ripping
#23 next year if he’s not in Cleveland.
At this point I think Howard can do whatever he likes…they’ve dominated the Hawks and are up 2-0. Cavs sure can’t say the same
granted this was when they were up 1-0. I understand

@3 His heart.
His Heart must be awfully small. Get your heads out of the gutter.
Go Cavs!
Dwight being jealous of Lebron is an understatement
As the saying goes “The best for of flattery is imitation”. Howard may be good, but he is still an imitation.
Sorry I meant “The best form of flattery is imitation.”
The jealousy only goes in one direction in that relationship.
Next thing you know there will be a “Dwight’s Elbow” twitter account.
Except Dwight’s Elbow will consist of tweets straight out of an MMA promo.
