Moving Forward: Chris Grant and Byron Scott Discuss the Future of the Cavaliers
July 9, 2010While We’re Waiting…LeBron Reaction Outside of NE Ohio
July 10, 2010As was stated earlier, we support the Cleveland Cavaliers. And we support Dan Gilbert. To that extent, one of Gilbert’s companies is Fathead, the removable sticker/graphics. Today on the website you can order your LeBron James Fathead (that actually made me chuckle to type) at the discounted price of $17.41. Significance of that number? The birth year of Benedict Arnold of course.
So we have purchased 2 of these posters (No, they were not donated.) for 2 reasons. The first is to show our support for Dan Gilbert. As I mentioned earlier, some of his comments may have crossed the line, but we are ready for him to rebuild a winner in C-town.
The second is to give you a chance to express yourself. Here’s what we want you to do. Send us an email (tips@waitingfornextyear.com) with a subject line Fathead. In that email tell us what you plan to do with the Fathead if you are the winner. Winners must go through with their promise and document it on tape or picture to be used in a WFNY post next week. (So technically you also win a feature on WFNY, so there’s that.) You have until midnight Saturday (July 10th) to submit your email.
That’s it. There you go Cleveland. Get creative.

the trade looks almost finalized. cavs get a $16 milli trade exception.
on, hear me out – the cavs now have $16 to use via trade and $13 million or so to sign a FA, assuming they cut West.
Paul and Okafor are 1000x more doable now, aren’t they? they only need to cover Okafor and the $16 can be used to trade for Paul.
or am I completely wrong about how a trade exception works?
i reread my post. i’m wrong. and stupid.
Not to be a sniveling ninny, but I posted the Empty Q idea last night in the comments.
It would be awesome.
In his first game back I hope they introduce him during the starting lineup as being from Miami, FL rather than from St Vincent St Mary’s HS in Akron, OH.
Any truth to the rumor that LeBron James is altering his back tat to read “CHOSEN 1/3”?*
*rumor started by me
@53 Ain’t gonna happen for a number of reasons but Gilbert is going to need the money so I would discourage that tactic. Besides that you know there will be alot of LeBron supporters /new Heat fans in attendance and that won’t look good on television. Of course the only television the Cavaliers will probably be on now is FSN Ohio.
@39 I’d buy that shirt!
Six years about $14-15 million a year for James. The Cavaliers received two future first round and two second round picks. I wonder what years?
@53
then you my man had a great idea.
and mgbode i totally agree on the rules portion.
1. sell it out
2. cheer the hinges off the door for the Cavs during lineup announcements.
3. everyone stand together before tipoff and PEACE OUT.
4. on the way out of the arena to the giant block party stop by and purchase snacks, merchandise, etc.
IMO, if i had the choice between this and 20,000 drunken fans screaming obscenities at the Heat, i choose the silent treatment.
again, just my opinion.
@ 51
you can forget Chris Paul coming to the Cavs after he left Octagon and signed with LRMR.
i dont think i see Maverick or James letting one of their agents sign with the Cavs after Gilberts letter.
like i said before on Gilberts temper tantrum, it was a fantastic gesture but may do some damage down the line.
Didn’t bother reading through all of the ideas, so if this has been suggested, I apologize. My friend Carmen will send said fathead to his cousin in New Orleans who will take it to an authentic voodoo witch doctor who he will instruct to use it to send any and all curses that are placed on the city of Cleveland to rest on the shoulders of none other than LBJ.
And re: a sell out/no show, I think fans should do what we used to do at BGSU hockey games. Show up with a copy of the newspaper, and when the Heat are announced, hold up the paper and after each name, lower the paper and yell, “Who’s he? Nobody!” then put the paper back up. JMO FWIW
