Pooh Jeter signs with Kings: “The Sacramento Kings announced Friday that they have signed Pooh Jeter (and Antoine Wright) and Jonathan Givony later tweeted that the contract is “fully guaranteed.”
I rejoiced. Jeter, pronounced Jet-er, averaged 14.4 points and 5.4 assists while shooting 48% from the field for the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Summer League team last week. Jeter’s a 5-foot-11 journeyman point guard that has shown to be a solid floor leader everywhere he’s been since coming out of Portland in 2006. He actually began his professional career with an invite to the Kings Summer League, but has played all over since…
Jeter’s biggest problem has always been his size and sub-par shooting, but he’s proven time and time again that his size isn’t a detractor – and has actually been able to improve his shooting as he shot 40.2% (41-of-102) from beyond the arc in Israel last season.” [Ridiculous Upside / Scott Schroder]

LRMR does not actually represent Chris Paul yet: “James and Paul share a close friendship, as well as some advisers. However, Paul has not hired James’s marketing firm — at least, not yet. Multiple news outlets, including The New York Times, have reported that Paul is working with LRMR, the company founded by James and his friend Maverick Carter. Paul was taken aback by the reports, according to a league official who spoke with him on Friday. Although he is considering LRMR, Paul said he had not yet made a decision, according to the official, who asked to remain anonymous to protect their relationship…That Paul would be sensitive to comparisons is understandable. James has been universally criticized for the way he handled his free agency and for choosing to announce his decision on a one-hour television special called “The Decision.” [Off The Dribble / Howard Beck]

More on Bentley v. Browns: “The suit, which was filed Thursday in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, asks for a minimum of $25,000 in damages for alleged fraud and negligent misrepresentation, according to Bentley’s attorney, Shannon Polk. “They told him their facility was the best,” Polk told The Associated Press. “But they never told him about a host of unsanitary conditions there. And they never told him about the list of others who contracted staph before he chose to rehab there.” … “At one point, I was so sick they weren’t sure I was going to live through the night,” Bentley told the AP. The bacterial infection, which ate away at his tendon, became so severe that doctors considered amputating his leg.” [ProFootballWeekly]

On Colt McCoy’s opportunity in Cleveland: “What the Browns should be hoping is that McCoy’s 2010 season starts now and essentially ends Sept. 2 when the preseason ends. That means he gets seven weeks to take snaps and real reps running the Browns’ plays, gets a little live experience against second and third-team defenses (maybe a drive against the Bears’ starters on Sept. 2) and then runs the scout team and holds the clipboard when the real games start, still learning but not getting his face or his confidence shattered in the process. That would put him way ahead of Brady Quinn, who missed valuable time while holding out in his rookie training camp while Charlie Frye and Derek Anderson stunk up the joint.” [OBR / Zac Jackson]

Pretty sure I’m gonna refer to Derek Jeter as “Derr-rick Jetter” from now.
Welcome to the fold, sir.
It’s about time another Pooh made it to the Association. You’ve been missed, Mr. Richardson.
why didn’t cle sign him? how does this summer league thing work? i thought he had a pretty good summer, and well, the cavs don’t have a true PG. Since other teams were interested he could have been traded too. I’m confused.
I liked Jeter but singing him to the Cavs didn’t make a ton of sense. We already have 3 undersized pgs at the moment. Unless we move Mo, Boobie or Delonte, it wouldn’t matter.
Well Delonte is essentially traded I feel. I think Pooh wouldve worked well in Scott’s offense, but I guess we wont kno.
I look awesome in my vest and cape.
Quailman, is that you?
Even if West is traded it will likely be for a PG a/k/a Sessions or Flynn
Even if West is traded it will likely be for a PG a/k/a Sessions or Flynn and thus Pooh would still be redundant
@MrCleveland, you grow up thinking your dad was superman, only to realize one day that he’s just a drunk who wears a cape?

Since Rashad McCants missed the Summer League for an understandable reason, and informed the Front Office why he would be missing it. Is there still a possibility that the Cavs will still invite him to training camp and maybe sign him. I think he’s a decent player and deserves a shot at a roster spot.

So, Lorenzen Wright is missing. I find it odd and hope that he is ok.
