Week 3 Open Thread: Browns at Ravens

Still looking for its first win of the season, the Cleveland Browns travel to AFC North rival Baltimore for a 1 p.m. (CBS) contest. Two disappointing losses to Tampa Bay and Kansas City began the year as fans are now searching desperately for any signs of 2010. See whether the Browns or Ravens will be more aggressive after their recent setbacks.

Follow along with the game with us here at WFNY and check out some of our posts from earlier in the week on the game. “The Browns Will Win If…” is the essential post, but we also are now featuring Craig’s intel info and a staff podcast. Specific to this game, we had some harsh injury updates and some earlier comments from Ray Lewis about the Browns.

Discipline and coaching in the last 5 minutes lost the game.. or a chance at the game. Maybe its not Mangini, but he has to get rid of all these dumb penalties and encroachment type things on D… horrendous.

Did Bernard even play today btw?

Daboll doesn’t know when to get some yards and when to get the whole thing. He has no clue about play calling. All last year he was too conservative until his job was threatened, then he opened up the playbook after we had nothing left to lose.

Now he wants to open it up when we just need a couple yards. He has no clue and needs to go.

It is so frustrating watching a team go 0-3 when it should be 3-0 or at least 2-1. Especially when said team looks way better than they did last year. I gotta agree with everyone, something needs to be done with the offense. If it means firing people then so be it. And jumping offsides at the end was ridiculous. That’s on the coaches not disciplining the players.

  • Gregg

This is why those first two games were so important. We could easily be 2-1 right now and feeling pretty good about this team.

is 0-16 but losing EVERY damn game by a TD or less progress?

    Puke: 3-0
    Ben-girls: 2-1
    Rat birds: 2-1
    Browns: 0-3

Never thought it would be this ugly this early.

So I was hoping this game would help me decide what jersey to buy. Hillis or Ward. My decision was simple… save the money.

  • BuckeyeDawg

Yep. Bye bye Daboll. A 30 yards pass on 3rd and 2 in that situation is totally idiocy. Hillis has been getting AT LEAST 3-4 yards every time he touched the ball, and you call that. Get the hell out of here.

I’d like to say that I can’t believe that we are 0-3… but.. I can.

    No franchise QB? Check.

    No playmaking WR? Check.

    No playmaking passrusher? Check.

    0-3? Check.

@ 144, I really think that we would be 2-1 if it weren’t for bad coaching on offense.

Do we have any of that stuff, no, but to win these games I don’t think we needed them. We could be a .500 team with this talent. Playoff run, ya we will need some more playmakers.

Cribbs said in the post game

“We left a lot in the playbook”

    To me that says,

    Our play calling sucks.

  • subadai

    @145

So, I’m supposed to be rooting for this team to get to .500?

We could have Bill Walsh as OC, Don Shula as DC and Vince Lombardi as HC and we are still just .500.

2 and 2 still isn’t good enough. We need more players.
