LeBron Announces He Would Now Change “The Decision”

LeBron James stated today that he would change how he scripted “The Decision” this past summer, according to a story from ESPN. Obviously affected by constant negative criticism against that television program, James did not specify what he would have changed today:

If I had to go back on it, I probably would do it a little bit different. But I’m happy with the decision I made. There’s always going to be a misunderstanding. I don’t know what I would [have done], but I definitely would have changed it.

It’s a beginning step toward what Cleveland fans have been saying since the summer. Today’s story was an unsurprising comment from James, but certainly one that will warrant national attention as well as his thoughts on his potential future free agency plans after this current contract with miami. ESPN.com’s Michael Wallace first reported this today before the Heat faced off against the New Jersey Nets.

Finally. I now acknowledge LeBron as ‘LeBron’ and not ‘#6′

Big deal. Took him 4 months and a 3 games of every stadium booing him to realize this? Pack a lunch and save me the apologies.

hes only saying this because of how negatively received the decision special was. He went from being one of the most loved athletes to one of the most hated and hes trying to cover for it.

    still hate you lebron

“I don’t know what I would [have done], but I definitely would have changed it.

Now he’s completely full of it. He obviously gave zero thought to changing anything, but decided to make a falsely contrite statement in order to try and quell negative feelings towards him.

    Try it again, Lebron.

“If I had to go back on it, I probably would do it a little bit different”….

I know that feeling! If I had known what a toolbox James is I never would have been proud he’s from Ohio.

You can stuff your sorries in a sack, mister!

It doesn’t matter, you’re still shunned dude, make sure to hit D Wade with plenty of assists ;)

This is like Roethlisbergrgrgr making sure he’s seen leaving church.
The most important quote of his statement, by far, is
    “I’m a Heat, man!”
I knew this kid was dumb as a potato, but…wow.

He’ll be racking up record assists this year when he constantly passed to Wade when the game is on the line.

    @BB- +1.

I guess this humanizes him a little but what is done cannot be undone.

I was going to hate him if he left regardless…and forever.

Everything that comes out of his mouth, from his camp and from Nike are calibrated for PR purposes. Now he’s in a stage of rehab from his PR disaster where his commercial attempts a focus shift from “messiah” to “I’m just a human and I gotta be me.” So now his interviews will predictably reflect a calibrated, limited admission of mistake. When it’s time to portray him as the greatest, most unselfish teammate ever, that’s what will come out of his mouth and his commercials.

It’s an error to assume that these latest comments reflect his thoughts about Cleveland. He’s a magnificent basketball player but he is primarily a salesman.

Eh, a few championships and the only place that will keep hating him will be Cleveland.

@12 – that is not necessarily true.

there will now always be a segment of the national fanbase that will believe that he took the easy way out of teaming up with Wade (and to a lesser degree Bosh). he didn’t think he could do it alone, which takes away from his legacy (i.e. he will never be truly compared as equals to Jordan/Bird/Magic/etc. now). He decided he didn’t want to take a chance at being remembered as the best player that ever lived (with the risk that he could be the next Malone/Barkely).
