In the world of pop culture, perhaps no source of entertainment better has their finger on the pulse than South Park. The longtime animated series on Comedy Central is certainly no stranger to taking on more serious issues of the day from religion to politics to disasters, but they also aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty and roll around in the mud.
In last night’s episode, it was LeBron James’ turn to feel the wrath of Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s spot on sense of parody. Although the spoof does contain some inside jokes from the previous couple of episodes, the overall point of it comes through.
I’ll say this much, if you believe that any publicity is good publicity, then LeBron’s summer has raised his visibility to unseen heights. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t recall South Park taking their shots at LeBron before all this. It’s up to you to decide whether this is all a good thing for LeBron or not.
