Browns Fans Taunt LeBron at Miami Restaurant
December 7, 2010Could Denver Coaching Change Have Cleveland Implications?
December 7, 2010When we launched the site at the end of January in 2008 we had no idea what to expect. We were blown away that first year by the response and community that had established. In order to say thank you, we decided to give away some things to you, our loyal readers.
Little did we know then that we were starting a tradition.
So starting today, we are again saying thank you for a great year by giving you the chance to win some great prizes. You may enter every day of the contest, but each household is only eligible to win once. In order to make your entry an official entry, all you have to do is comment on the post by 1) restating the question of the day, and 2) answering the question. That’s it. (Make sure that the account you are using to comment has a legit email address, that is how winners are notified.)
How about a pair of Tribe lower box vouchers? The vouchers may be redeemed beginning in February for tickets of your choice (excluding opening day). [Details here.] AND a Peyton Hillis Thunder t-shirt from the WFNY Swag shop.
The Question of the Day:
Chris ‘Pure Rage’ Perez seems to have locked up the closer role for the Tribe. Here is your question- Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
As always, the winner will be randomly selected, so there is no ‘right’ answer. Good luck!

Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Easily Eric Plunk. I also liked Shuey, but Plunk was much more awkward
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Bob Wickman. The guy made saves entertaining.
Its gotta be Wickman! You NEVER even THOUGHT about leaving in the 9th when he was pitching! Always entertaining…..always on the edge of disaster…That’s our Wicky!!
This is cheating a little bit but it’s Dave Otto. In 1992 he started a bunch og games but then worked as a reliever starting in August. After some miserable performances out of the pen including an outing where he gave up 5 runs without getting an out was sent home. I don’t mean that he was released or traded or sent to the minors. He was simply told to go home. In essence telling him that we would rather have an unused roster spot then to have you on the team.
That’s awesome.
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Doug Jones and the stache.
Mingo a close second!!!
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Jesse Orosco, from his brief stint with the Tribe in the late 80’s/early 90’s. I just liked the way he handled his business. I was also young and had a cool-looking baseball card of his. That guy proved that if you have a left arm, you can pitch in MLB for a loooooooong time
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Doug jones. I had that stache just last year!
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
John Rocker hands down. Whenever he came in the game he brought great energy with him. He was the sole reason I stayed until the end of the game during the Indians 12 run comeback vs the Mariners.
Favorite Indians relief pitcher?
Rich Yett, because he signed my glove one time after an Indians game when I was a youngster.
Paul Assenmacher. All the dude did was eat, drink beer, and get out lefthanded hitters.
Here is your question- Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?

Eric “Ker”Plunk – He was great until he wasn’t.
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
I would have to say, going modern-era, that Pure Rage is in fact my favorite. He’s one of the few on the entirety of the pitching staff that gives me genuine hope and comfort.
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Jamie Brewington… He threw me packs of bazooka bubble gum out a purple and pink Beauty and the Beast backpack when I sat behind the visiting bullpen at Angels Stadium (I was around 12 at the time). I am from Southern California and I try to attend every game the Indians play in Southern California.
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Doug Jones. He was good at a time when the Tribe didn’t have much in the way of significant talent.
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Bob Wickman…he made me feel better about my physique.
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Paul Shuey: great stasch, and either lights out with the sinker, or a gas can for the other team.
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Is it blasphemous to say Mesa?
I’ll go with Wickman. He might have caused me a few heart attacks but usually got the job done.
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Eric Plunk – Only because my mom loved his name (it is a good one). She would make a KerPLUNK joke every time he came into the game. To this day when we are watching the Tribe she asks “Remember Plunk? I used to love his name.” We know mom, we know.
Sarcastic: John Rocker
Fo Real: Bob “The Big Fatty” Wickman

Danys Baez. He blew a major league-leading 10 saves as a closer but who cares he tossed me a bullpen ball!
Which Indians relief pitcher is your all-time favorite?
Mesa. He was too good in his prime to not pick him. He’s like the Craig Ehlo of the Indians, one bad game shouldn’t ruin all of the other good ones.
Which Indians relief pitcher is my all-time favorite?
Bob Wickman, hands down, all time tribe leader in saves. he had no neck, but the man could sure close the door on a game.
