Oh… man! That about says it all about the D today.
Beureline (spelling?) makes a good point…
“McCoy understands he needs to get yards in chunks…”
At least someone understands that on this team.
@ 90
Um . . . I majored in history at UD. I would say it’s a small world, but there are/were a ton of Clevelanders at UD.
Odds that the D can make a stop when we need it. 0.0000002%
why would you NOT stop the clock before the 2 minute warning? you just let 7 seconds tick off!
Stop the RUN!!!!!!
There is no way the Bengals are throwing for this first down.
Not sure how I feel about the onsides… I guess I’d have loved it if we got it, so I guess I won’t complain. Like Historycat said… not a lot of confidence in our D to get the three and out right now.
It’s so frustrating when we knew they were going to run three times but couldn’t hold them to fewer than 10 yards.
So what’s everyone’s take? Does the coaching staff stay or go?
Another close loss LOL – fire Mr. Inconsistency Mangini.
What the heck! Why in the world do they have two safeties dropped back 10 to 15 yards at the snap!?!?!?!?!
Are they protecting against the deep pass that is NOT COMING?!?!?!?
The Bengals just had more blockers than the browns had defenders on that play. That is inexcusable . If the defense goes 1 on 1 against the wideouts and gets beat…so be it. But for crying out loud, how do you not stack the line when this team has thrashed you for over 20 yards rushing today?
It’s official Browns fans…welcome to another losing season.
@102
I think you give mangini the chance to get a new OC, and if not then they both go.
that was supposed to say 200 yards
Sickening… the Browns are likely looking at the reverse of what happened last year. Two losses and now facing the Ravens and Steelers. Praying that the offense comes back to life, building off that last drive, with a full week of McCoy taking snaps in practice.
@ 105 that’s been my take too, but the weak inept way the Browns coached/executed at the end of the first half today has me thinking Mangini’s done.
Really, I don’t really want Mangini to be gone cause I think that would hurt the consistency we’re starting to have.
But if he is gone, I won’t shed a tear.
Rob Ryan exposed. Awful game with the exception of the 1st and last O drives. WHy cant we attack down field throughout the WHOLE game. Uncanny what happens huh? And they run 1 delay with Hillis and its his best run of the game. SHOCKER! I dont think we need to re-work this team for a new coaching staff. The O will be fine with a RT and a WR (assuming Hardesty comes back healthy). The D needs to be re-worked in the front 7. I like the 34, but it doesnt appear to be working at all. Rubin, Rogers as DTs, Roth and Coleman (and rookie) at DEs. Then Fujita and a rookie on the OLB with Gocong at MLB. I hope the new coaching staff is ready next year cause we should not be this bad.
I’m not one for firing coaches every 3 seasons. We have been doing that for too long… but this has to change. They need to get a proven OC. If not, pink slips for all.
Paging Mr. Gruden. Mr. Gruden, please pick up an orange courtesy phone.
I dont know if I want gruden, but I will trust Holmgren and Heckert. They were right with personnel decisions (for the most part) so I will be behind them. This team should be better then a 5-9 record. There is no reason why the browns couldnt be flipped right now at 9-5. Great, they are competitive. But I believe the talent is there and the coaches are not using it. They are too afraid to lose big that they want to keep it close and maybe pull out the game at the end. You have to take chances sometime.
We have no way to keep opposing defenses honest. We don’t have recievers, we don’t have a #2 running back, and we don’t have a good playcaller running our offence. I don’t want to see Mangini go this year, even if we lose out from here. However, I want to see a big time OC come in here.
If Mangini won’t do that, then we need to can them both.
@ Chris – after weeks and weeks of wrangling with you (indirectly of course) it’s good to know that we finally agree on Daboll/Mangini.
