Joe Haden Rookie Highlights

In honor of the fact that Joe Haden was selected as a finalist for Rookie of the Year, I thought I would hunt down some of the season highlights to send us off into the weekend with happy thoughts.  Haden is far from a finished product, but he is also far from “too slow” as Michael Lombardi reported earlier in 2010.  For the season, Haden finishes with 64 tackles 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and 6 interceptions.  Here is the video evidence.

Lastly, here is the video I found with Joe talking about his speed and his teammates laughing it up in the background.

that jets interception should have been batted down and not intercepted…

but anyways can’t wait to see his sophomore year. i’d like to know how much this pick was influenced by mangini vs holgrem

I don’t know, the play they were talking about in the interview was incredibly impressive IMHO. He jumped the first look but still caught back up. They ball was a bit underthrown, sure, but he closed that gap quick enough for an easy pick; i think that short of an absolutely perfect pass he still had a great chance of breaking up that play.

Next year will be telling. I’m assuming he will continue to grow.

I also love McLoed’s loving glare at Haden, eyes all fluttering.

@2, I think that’s McLeod’s man-twin Jim Donovan. The doucher resemblances are a bit frightening (although they’re both acceptable game callers)

maybe every team that needs a shutdown corner out of the draft should hire Eric Mangini. 2/2.

Also, Craig, why is it that when a national derpasaurus like Lombardi, Schefter, etc. Reports some inane rumor from an improbable ‘source’ (Joe Haden on roster bubble dErp) and it turns out to be completely untrue, people don’t go frothing rabid like when a blog site reports from a source about a coaching hire they get flamed on 60 Minutes?

Must be ok to fabricate tabloid-grade b.s. If you’re syndicated, because if more people hear you say it, it must be true!

@Believelander – Can I also credit Mangini for the 2nd round draft pick of David Veikune as well? I like your try except Mangini didn’t draft Haden. Heckert did.

Look, you are clearly in the tank for Mangini in an almost Frowns like way. I get that. But your are just stirring things up when there is no reason to. If you want to give Mangini, Ryan and the other coaches all the credit for Haden’s development, well…at least that has some degree of truth to it (who really knows how that would all break down). But to give Mangini credit for drafting Haden, give it a rest.

I remember other people saying he was too slow

my theory on why Haden will be a staple on this team for years to come: he has Brownie elf ears.

Love the way this guy plays.

I agree that the Jets game pick should have just been knocked down. Can’t blame a rookie for trying to make a play and get his team the ball though.

That was a really good cut back on the steelers int.
