Developing News: Clippers Trade Not Yet Official… More Picks Coming?

(The LA Times later reported this morning that Baron Davis did indeed pass his physical. He is expected to play for Cleveland tonight.)

The recent trade between the Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers still has not been declared official as of Sunday at 9 a.m., according to multiple news sources.

Reports, including those from, indicate that the MRI knee results from new Cavs point guard Baron Davis are potentially taking a little longer to process than normal. While the Clippers are currently not worried about the trade passing completely by today’s 5 p.m. deadline, rumors are circulating that Cleveland could be in position to request more pieces in the deal.

Ben Maller was one of many outlets to cite from sources saying that the Cavs still might ask for additional draft picks in the final workings of this deal. Stay tuned for any more updates as the day continues here at WFNY. Mo Williams and Jamario Moon supposedly passed their physicals Friday, but had not played in the past two L.A. games because of this final complication with the trade.

So we get stuck with,…um…I mean keep Baron Davis and potentially get another pick from the Clippers? Ok, I’ll take it. I guess it would be a second round pick as we couldn’t expect any more than that could we?

It’s the Clippers you never know but between Baron’s age, health and attitude I would still be very pessimistic of his impact on the Cavaliers. This was about the first round unprotected draft pick. 10 draft picks over 3 years, should be interesting.

Sweet. Mo Williams, like Brady Quinn before him, just might be the gift that keeps on giving.
