NBA Trade Rumors: Celtics Join Bulls in Pursuit of Anthony Parker
February 19, 2011While We’re Waiting… Browns Draft, Andre Miller, Troy Murphy Rumors
February 20, 2011Daniel Gibson will be the sole Cleveland Cavaliers participant in NBA All-Star Weekend – deservedly or not – and he has his chance to shine Saturday night. Some of the league’s top dunkers, skills competition contestants and three-point bombers will fight for some cool trophies beginning at 8 p.m. tonight.
Follow along as we see if Gibson can ride the momentum of Wednesday’s upset over the Lakers to a clutch performance in Los Angeles. For those who remember, during his second NBA season, he won MVP of the Rookie Challenge and finished runner-up in this particular event. Ball Don’t Lie previewed all of tonight’s fun, and provided this glimpse on Boobie’s chances:
“Daniel Gibson is the smallest participant in a contest that hasn’t been kind to shorter guards all that often. Steve Kerr, Mark Price, Voshon Lenard, Daequan Cook and Tim Legler have all had their luck (Jeff Hornacek had a few inches on that group), but more often than not the shorter, sweet-shooting guards fall, eh, short. Prove me wrong Daniel, and give Cavs fans a thrill in an otherwise tough season.”

He takes to long to shoot, to much body movement. Hopefully he doesn’t embarass the worst team in the NBA more!
Nice, we just got embarrassed some more…
LOL only thing worse then his shooting was that haircut!
thank god Kevin Durant did worse
This years all star break is met by me with an resounding “meh”.
This season really is completely lost, and while I think Boobie deserves a shot, I can’t shake the feeling that he’s the “token Cavalier”.
3-point titles won’t heal the wounds but for a weekend. I would much rather see a competent and proud effort on the floor consistently.
The dunk contest has turned into a joke. Derozan had by far the most impressive dunks and doesn’t make the finals. I wasn’t that impressed by any of Blakes dunks. Then the finals are a popularity contest with fan voting thats starts before the finals do. Dumb
Atleast Boobie didn’t get last.
The winner is a joke, but the contest itself is still pretty cool. If anything, Ibaka got robbed the most as his FT line dunk should’ve been a 60, let alone a 50. The car dunk got an A for presentation, and a C- on the dunk itself, but it’s all about showmanship……
.
Besides, we all knew the winner before the game got started lol
I think dunking is too common now for a Dunk Contest to be special at all.
until someone can pull off a flip or survive a fall from the rafters I think this contest is done.
Derozan>McGee>Ibaka>Griffin
Ibaka was robbed after the FT line dunk, but he stole the teddy bear idea from Skyenga. Christian did that in a Spanish dunk contest.
Gotta love the idiots on TNT ripping Gibson for missing when the whole contest was awful and no one could get past 20 points.
“until someone can pull off a flip or survive a fall from the rafters I think this contest is done.”
Spoken like a true ninja. Thanks for the LOL.
“…or survive a fall from the rafters…”
Owen Hart would caution against this idea.
