Your post-press conference reactions:
“Why was Tressel quiet for so long? Why did he stay quiet about the e-mails throughout the investigation into the players’ memorabilia sales in December? Why did he eventually come forward about the e-mails more than a month later? When did he realize the players were likely guilty of NCAA violations? When did he realize he was likely guilty of NCAA violations by not coming forward when he was tipped off? Did anyone else at the university know what Tressel knew? No, this isn’t over by a long shot.” [Dr. Saturday/Yahoo!]

“In a business that’s all about winning, business in Columbus has been very good. How does it change? How do rival recruiters use this against him? How does a program that’s clearly been bruised keep from being battered? Time will tell. Ohio State isn’t going to lose to Akron or Toledo when Tressel is suspended, but it’s about winning big. And consistently. And Tressel’s always been at the forefront of “doing things right.” He’s not the first coach to bend or conceal the truth. How he spins this whole ordeal as a positive will ultimately determine how this period of the Tressel Era — and maybe the entire era — is remembered.” [Zac Jackson/FS Ohio]

The Tribe outfield situation- “However, if Sizemore is out until whenever, would the Indians consider giving Buck some starting time in LF? Maybe it wouldn’t be in a platoon, but there was a time in the not-so-distant past that Travis Buck posted an .850 OPS (127 OPS+) as a 23-year-old in a ½ season for the Athletics. Certainly he’s been atrocious since then, done in by injuries; but if he is healthy, it is worth noting that the only season that Kearns has outpaced that .850 OPS (127 OPS+) that Buck posted in 2007 was way back in 2002, when Kearns put up the best hitting line of his career as a 22-year-old in Cincinnati, posting a .907 OPS (134 OPS+) in 104 games that year for the Reds.” [Cousineau/The DiaTribe]

LeBron now making friends in the Atlanta area- “LeBron James may be a crying villain who can’t perform in crunch time, but he’s still a human being. As such, he likes to have fun, and for him that means going to high-class clubs. Unlike a normal club patron, though, LeBron is famous, so he can get paid massive amounts of money for short personal appearances at these venues. His friends and partners organize the appearances, LeBron makes them, and everyone gets paid. It’s part of being a businessman (er, business, man) whose personal brand involves being a fun-loving young star whom a lot of people happen to hate for his perceived selfishness. Of course, as is often the case when thousands of dollars are at stake, not all these appearances go off without a hitch. Now, LeBron is being sued for a club date that hasn’t even happened yet.” [Freeman/Ball Don't Lie]

Tweet of the night (and there were several candidates)- “If I read one more article about how the Heat so desperately miss Udonis Haslem. It’s UDONIS HASLEM!” @tompestak
