Farewell to Rocktober Version 1.0

We decided to go outside of the comfort zone this year in terms of site content and our worst fears were completely unrealized.  We had no idea what to expect when we thought about doing Rocktober, but we were so happy to find that most people rolled with it and enjoyed it.  We promise that we won’t get too far off the reservation and we will try not to over-indulge, but it is nice to know that we can occasionally get a hall pass to go outside the normal confines of Cleveland sports.  For that, let me just say thanks on behalf of everyone at WFNY.

While we are talking about hall passes, how would you feel about giving us one more?  what would you think of us doing some “Best of 2011″ types of articles?  Maybe a couple each for music, movies and TV?

    well, considering that in December the odds are that the MLB offseason will be quiet, the Cavs will still be on lockout and the Browns will be facing that brutal end-of-season stretch…

    yeah, I think we’ll need a few more things to talk about (other than the inevitable – 1 more year for McCoy or draft QB first? threads)

    I’m all for it…like mgbode said…December is really going to be a drag around here with no MLB or NBA talk, and the obvious Browns bits.

    On that note, I was just thinking about this today….I know DP moved most of his Blue Jackets stuff over to The Cannon (http://www.waitingfornextyear.com/2011/04/announcement-dps-cbj-coverage-moving-to-the-cannon/), but I thought he was still going to be doing the weekly 5-hole column? Not that the Jackets are any more interesting or successful (2-9-1! C’mon boys), just wondering what happened.

    I think you guys really should. I enjoyed the “Rocktober” series. I would be interested in something with movies, I’m all about Rotten Tomatoes and MetaCritic. And next year is going to be huge for blockbusters (The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, and The Dark Knight Rises), thankfully no Michael Bay movies.
