Cavaliers Recall Christian Eyenga From Canton Charge

The Cavaliers today recalled G/F Christian Eyenga from their D-League affiliate in Canton. Daniel Gibson missed Saturday’s game in Atlanta because of a death in his family, but returned to the team today. This could be an indication that Tristan Thompson’s ankle injury could keep him out of the line-up for at least a game.

In Canton, Eyenga was averaging 8.9 points and  3.8 rebounds while shooting 40%, hitting only one of the three pointers he has attempted this season.

The D-League was too boring to engage his mighty talents.  He clearly meshes better playing with/against NBA talent.  Just in time to dunk on Lebron’s face.

not sure what this is about other than Byron seeing complacency and thinking the energy of a D-League guy hoping not to have to ride any more buses gets the slackers a little worried. Or maybe Grant wants a last eval of Eyenga before releasing him. Or a warm body as a hedge against minor injuries to the current bench.

I remember that when Ferry drafted Eyenga they were looking to draft a guy who wouldn’t sign right away for cap or payroll purposes but man, what a crappy pick, just a grasshopper with zero skills and basketball IQ.
