While We’re Waiting… Baseball’s Age Problem, Tight End Depth and Winning the Hickson Trade
January 23, 2012CSU Weekend Wrapup: Vikes Sweep Wisconsin Schools and Stay Atop Horizon League
January 23, 2012Offensively, I have no clue of what we are doing. It’s a lot of one-of-one basketball. We want to the ball to go from one side of the floor to the other and I can’t recall one time tonight when we did that. And, these are things we were preaching before the game. Until we start playing as a team on both ends of the floor, we are going to continue to see these kinds of outcomes. […] It’s worse than last season. I know we’re better than this. To come out last night and perform the way we did was disappointing, but to come out again after what we talked about and pretty much give the same performance is even worse. This is a problem we have to fix quickly.
– Veteran power forward Antawn Jamison on the recent three-game plight of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers amassed zero second-chance points in the loss to the Atlanta Hawks following a 10-point loss to the Golden State Warriors and a 39-point loss to the Chicago Bulls who were playing without reigning MVP Derrick Rose.

Maybe it’s because you shoot the ball every single time you touch it Antawn
he’s right, it is worse than last season. because we are healthy while receiving these beatdowns. of course, it was sort of expected to happen and mr. jamison is one of the bigger ‘at fault’ guys here.
Funny thing is DeMarcus Cousins said about the same thing less than a month ago and folks were up in arms about him undermining Westphal, talking about the new generation not respecting their coaches and Cousins trying to run Westphal out of town. I guess Antwan gets cut some slack because he’s been around so long, but come on Antwan keep quiet until they can find someone willing to take you off the Cavs’ hands.
I more than “Like” this comment, I love it. How about Antawn Jamison realizes that his crummy shooting percentages on jump shots are part of the problem and his awful defense gets some credit too. Tristan Thompson isn’t ready to be the starter yet, but that doesn’t mean we’re getting anything consistent from Jamison. He’s a great guy who should be a bench player on a better team at this point in his career.
As strange as it seems, “Antawn” actually is the correct spelling of his name even though you pronounce it as “Antwan”. But I mostly agree with this comment.
Maybe we should fix Jamison’s quote then:
“Offensively, I have no clue of what we are doing. So, I just jack up shots and hope they go in to pad my career stats. It’s not like I have ever won anything at any level in my entire HS, college or professional career, so I might as well have counting stats, right?”
too harsh?
Nope, I’m good with it. Let’s go to print.
this is all sad but true. Maybe years around the Wizards and Agent Zero just undid all that NC fundamental stuff. And after his admitted pouting last year and now this, starting to think the Great Guy rep is media-speak for “he’ll give anyone a post-game quote.” Really, enough already Twan. Ready for you to take that fugly push shot to some bench where other people can get you that ring.
Thank you for the correction.
Signed,
Jhonny Peralta and Dwyane Wade
They hastely get rid of Mike Brown and this is what happens. The organization is getting what it deserves….Byron Scott is NOT the answer for this team…
Jamison has his flaws as a defender (the matador!) but if his comments are true, Jamison’s struggles as of late are probably in part a reflection of poor ball movement.
Exactly, maybe try passing the ball once in a while and stop running your mouth like you’re not part of the problem.
