NFL.com says Browns could “realistically be 0-13”
April 17, 2012Box Score: Cavaliers 77, Pistons 116
April 17, 2012Prior to the Indians’ Tuesday night game against the Seattle Mariners, the club placed All-Star shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera on the bereavement list for a death in the family. According to MLB rules, Cabrera must stay on the list for 3 to 7 days, with his placement retroactive to Monday.
The Indians recalled lefty Nick Hagadone to fill Cabrera’s spot on the roster. Hagadone, who was a prospect acquired from Boston in the Victor Martinez trade three years ago, was in the running for a bullpen spot this spring. As TD noted yesterday in his Clippers piece, Hagadone has looked good in Columbus, allowing only two hits, no runs, and striking out five in more than five innings pitched. He was likely headed for the big leagues soon, so it will be interesting to see if he sticks with the club once Cabrera comes back.
In the instant, Jason Donald will start at shortstop Tuesday night against the Mariners. Donald will bat ninth in the order while Jason Kipnis will hit in the two-hole.
