Two questions:
1. How did Hagadone look to anyone who was able to stay up past my bedtime?
2. What is going on with Hannahan and the errors?
1. Hagadone looked good! To me it seemed like he took a lot of time in between his pitches, but he had pretty good command. I think a little bit more time in Columbus would do him some good.
2. Only Hannahan could tell you that. It’s not like he’s out of position or anything, but the way he’s been handling the ball is awfully clumsy. Very unlike him.
Chris Perez faced 6 batters eh? Lovely.
I guess the beauty of my bowling league not starting until 9:00 p.m. is that I got to watch the majority of this one…..glad I had to stay up, because if I was at home it would have been shut off once Masterson imploded. It was weird…he looked in control the first two innings and then went all Rick Ankiel in the third and fourth. Couldn’t throw a dang strike, and when he did they were meatballs..hopefully it was just an off night for the big guy.
Hagadone looked pretty good to me….someone on the tv was saying he needed to work on his out pitch and then boom, a huge breaking ball for a strikeout.
Always good to see Carlos smashing…
As I meandered up the stairs to bed last night I said out loud to myself..”I just stayed up late enough to watch Masterson unravel; why am I not staying up late enough to watch them comeback?”
bedtime FAIL.
I read that there was a game ending double play ball that hit Donald in the face so it was not all his fault.
I wondered what happened there… was keeping track on MLB.com’s gamecast waiting for a hungry baby to finish eating when I see that the ball deflected off of Donald into center field for a hit and there was an injury time out. Pure Rage didn’t have his best stuff last night and walked the Mariners’ worst player on 4 straight pitches to load the bases. Then gets their hottest hitter to fly out. He’s quite the enigma.
He seemed to have pretty good command from watching the gamecast pitching thingie, but looks like he only really uses two pitches, which makes sense as to why he’s a bullpen guy. He has a 4-seam fastball and a slider and would sometimes mix in a 2-seam fastball that wasn’t very effective last night.
I stopped following the gamecast when the Mariners went up 7-1 and decided to watch a replay of the Cavs game on NBA.com. I quickly moved away from that as the Cavs looked terrible and started watching the Spurs/Lakers game. I see on the tracker at the bottom of the screen that the score is somehow 8-7 and decided I needed to get back on gamecast… never thought the Indians would claw back into that one.
To be fair our pitchers walked him 4 times last night.
I’m not sure if the K-Zone thing for MLB’s gamecast was working correctly, but it seemed like that umpire had a really tiny (and inconsistent) strike zone. There were a lot of pitches that seemed to land well within the strike zone that were called balls.
You’re right he had a terrible strike zone
