Thorpe: Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson Rookies With Most Upside
April 19, 2012NBA Report: Lester Hudson will not finish season with Cavs
April 19, 2012We’ve talked a lot about schedule analysis and trying to figure out what chances the Browns have at various finishes based on having a difficult schedule. I thought it might be interesting to take the pulse of the fanbase now so that we can look at the results now and also have them for after the season. I think it will be interesting, especially because we are pre-draft right now.

mostly 4’s and 6’s, with a couple 3’s (@BAL and @PIT) and 7’s (Indy, WAS).
Noooooooooo. Why do you propagate this speculation!? Aren’t there actual facts to discuss?
Mostly 3 and 4 from me, with two 5’s (vs Cincy and Chiefs), two 7’s (Indy and WASH), and two 1’s (Ravens and Steelers on their field).
a game by game poll, before the draft or preseason!! Cuz you readers love polls, you get to participate, and what you think sans information is important to us, and anyway that’s how other outlets get traffic. Tomorrow: Trayvon v. Zimmerman, we want to know what YOU think really happened!

I think there’s a lot of potential for this to be really interesting, especially if the polls are done at points in time – pre-draft, post-draft, after pre-season, to see how expectations are trending. I, personally, am interested, as I think the staff at WFNY will attempt to meaningfully interpret the data.
I believe use of the word “fail” is officially a “fail” at this point.
Plus, don’t you know me better than that? I might just be trying to make a point or taking the pulse right now in order to make it part of a much longer narrative on expectations and perceptions given timing and information.
Thanks for thinking so highly of me though… 🙂
Thanks Jason!
I agree with you, Jason. It can provide a nice cross section into the minds of the fans, and if nothing else it can be a good football related diversion from the silliest of silly seasons. It’s a novel idea, and I applaud Craig for trying something different
it may be pre-draft considerations, but i guarantee nobody thought about indy and wash w/o luck and rg3
yeah, that was harsh
I’m with you, Jason!
yeah, sorry Craig. Detest polls as they are used on sites but certainly give you benefit of the doubt. My first take was the hypocrisy of deriding an 0-13 prediction on Tuesday as laughingly premature and then asking for season record predictions on Thursday. Should have expressed it with more fairness and nuance.
yeah gee whiz Harv, if you want the damned kids to stay off your lawn, just say so. Gosh
🙂
I’d say we have a 50% chance of winning 25% of our games, so no Kool-Aid for me this year, thanks. At least not yet. Maybe after the draft my manic-depressive Browns mood will swing wildly the other way as I envision Richardson running to daylight and all our other early-round “steals” lighting it up.
put the Jersey/A one as a 10. hope to see the streak stay alive
After the rage and negativity died down a little I actually gave them a shot in a few games. Nice poll Craig.
‘comment of the day’ coming soon!
all in good fun craig.
just put out a sign.
noone has mentioned the complete mess that the Raiders and Bills are?
I think the Chiefs and Redskins have a much better chance of fielding a decent team than those 2 teams (with the Raiders stripping things bare ala 2010 Browns at the moment).
obviously, after the draft, things may change.
wouldn’t get all wound up like this if you kids had just a little respect for my grass. Now that nice Mike Adams boy …
Sounds a lot like mine. Lots of 4, 5, and 6’s. Lowest I went was a 3 (@ Baltimore), Highest was an 8 (Washington).

all 5’s… because hey. The season does not start until september
Lowest I put was a 2 (Week 17 at Pittsburgh), with a couple 8s (vs. Indy, Wash – I don’t think either will be much improved even with their new QBs… at least this year – even Cam Newton only won 6 games, and most people don’t have that kind of impact).
Very interesting poll. Would love to see how it stacks up in retrospect after the season is over.
Your really should have made everyone use their handles. 🙂 Then you can counter their arguments later this season…!
This is the Internet, good sir, there is no accountability here!
highest i came up with was an 8 versus the Raiders…
not sure what is so interesting about the responses here. we will have at least 10-15 additional players on the roster via draft and FA, with close to half of them being regulars, so it seems to me to be extremely premature to make predictions.
In a vacuum, this poll is relatively meaningless. Post-draft, the results could be way different as people’s perceptions will change regarding the potential of the roster, and its that shift (or lack thereof) that will be interesting.
good point. man, “CAN’T WAIT” for the Draft
I also ended up with a lot of 4’s or 6’s, considering I started at 5 for each game and then adjusted slightly based on who I felt was the better team or who was at home.
