The Indians made a winner out of Ubaldo Jimenez, and Chris Perez recorded his 14th save. Perez came in the came to at least a partial standing ovation, but did hear a few boos after giving up a walk and a hit.

The Tigers; they’rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeee not so great 🙂
Be careful! We beat Boston 8-3 in the opener and lost the next 3. I’d be happy to win at least one more of this series, but Fister and Verlander are tough matchups.
Dear CP,
People don’t like when you pump your hips and shout after striking out the SECOND out in the inning. No matter how much you’re winning.
Signed,

Guys…guys… is Chris Perez OK??? We should keep him in our prayers tonight before we go to bed. He heard some boos in the crowd when he had 2 baserunners on and I’m worried he’ll be crying himself to sleep tonight.
Also: there goes our shot at signing the next super-star free agent. Forget the fact we can’t pay a player 30million a year like the Yankees, we just booed someone! That’s why we’ll never get the great ones.
I’ll be thinking of you, Chris, as you make it through these tough times. Forget the unemployed, the recently laid-off, the part-time workers with no benefits. or the fact that Chris makes more in one inning than the average Clevelander earns in a year – a man was booed tonight. I hope a portion of that 4.5 million dollars you make this year will go towards a great therapist.
This kind of garbage does nothing but make us look bad. Just stop it. I’ll let you boo the guy when he blows the save, but at least give him a chance to get his job done before you let him have it.
For all the vitriol the fans throw at this team, they deserve to get some thrown back at them.
their mothers smell of elderberries. i fart in their general direction.
I agree. I mean he’s only saved 14 in a row and if I’m correct leading the AL in saves
The simplicity of this comment makes it beautiful.
Kudos sir.
I love it. When Avila hit the three run bomb I thought it would be a long night. There’s just no quit in these guys.
I might just have to go to the noon game on Thursday.
Damon — 0 for 3 with 2Ks. Ouch.
The corpse of Johnny Damon strikes (out) again! Let’s get a live body that’s not Sloth from the goonies out in LF please.
Why can’t Zeke Carrera get a shot? Thought he played well last year and is an actual leadoff hitter.
It’s only May. I’m just as excited as anyone else, but let’s all see how the season plays out. So far so good though!
He had like a .300 OBP last year and has been struggling in Columbus this year.
I agree though that we should try something different. Somebody who can contribue something in LF would be nice. But to be fair, we were calling for Laporta this time last month and Kotchman has turned it around nicely.
I’d much rather have Choo hitting leadoff than Carrera. Choo just would get on base way more than Zeke. The notion that the leadoff guy has to be blazing fast and a contact hitter is antiquated. Like the saying goes, you cant steal first base.
it’s funny but LaPorta may still be the call in LF if we make the switch.
agree on Kotchman. the past couple of weeks he has been seemingly involved in every win.
“you cant steal first base”
then you haven’t watched Mike Trout play yet
Yeah he currently has a .282 OBP at Columbus and is only 6 out of 10 in stolen base attempts. He was also terrible in the outfield last season, no thank you. Id rather roll the dice with LaPorta in left.
you wanna know how to get to detroit?
1. north till you smell it
2. west till you step in it
