Box Score: Yankees 5, Indians 4

Well, that one hurt. The Indians dropped their fifth game in a row and got swept by the Yankees with a final 5-4 deficit Wednesday afternoon.

After a furious ninth inning rally, Asdrubal Cabrera flew out to left to end the game with the bases loaded. The Indians offense finally got some hits and did quite well after Andy Pettitte left the game with his ankle injury, but were unable to get the final hit late.

Cleveland now is 37-37 on the season, and 11-19 since May 25. The team heads to Baltimore (41-32 entering play tonight) for a four-game weekend series starting tomorrow night.

No end in sight…thinking we will lose 3/4 against Bal….

  • JNeids

ACab flew out swinging at the FIRST PITCH after Brantley walked (2nd BB of the inning). Way to be a team leader…

  • Natedawg86

This could be the point that we look back on and say it turned the season around… lose tomorrow and we are below .500…..glad I have tickets to Sat game

  • nj0

Actually think it was the second pitch, a 1-0 count. But your point is still valid. Last five out of six were balls. What’s the rush?

  • nj0

This team just has too much dead weight. Some might get better (Santana), but I expect most to continue to disappoint (Damon, Kotchman, Lopez, Cunningham).
Brantley and his Joe Carter-esque OBP should not bat lead off.

  • JNeids

My bad, I was only following on my phone and it ended without telling me how. Someone gave me bad intel.

see that Aaron Cunningham subbed in both left and right field, a walk in one official at-bat, didn’t strike out today. That is Wedge-inspired versatility, friends. Maybe Seattle has a good stick/bad attitude guy that isn’t buying into their program. It’s about 2:00 PST, he’s probably finishing push-ups in his office – I’ll reach out and let y’all know if there’s something there.

Hey Chris Perez, do we still have to show up for this crap now that you don’t even have a winning record? Thanks.

  • MrCleaveland

And yet, we’re still right there! If we can survive this lousy stretch and still be in it, we might get hot, go on an inexplicable run, and pull away from the pack a bit.

    It can be done.
