Cleveland Cavaliers not on Flynn’s list of preferred destinations

It has been reported that the Cavaliers have an interest in signing free agent PG Jonny Flynn. The feeling it seems is not exactly mutual.

According to ESPN LA, Flynn has a list of six teams that he would like to play for next season-

“After a rocky start to his career that has been challenged by hip surgery and two trades since being selected No. 6 out of Syracuse in the 2009 NBA draft, Jonny Flynn is seeking a fresh start this offseason and just might find it with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Flynn has identified six teams — the Lakers, Portland, Phoenix, Toronto, Chicago, and Brooklyn — as potential destinations and should find mutual interest from the potential suitors, according to a source close to the unrestricted free agent point guard.”

Sounds like the Cavaliers might have to outbid for his services if they really want him.

We don’t want you then anyways. Has been, never was..

  • floydrubino

I don’t blame him because why would you go somewhere where you have to sit behind the best at his position. We could care less though. Hudson is just as good.

  • MoreGolfLessWork

Good, don’t want him. Thought he was overrated in college, and don’t think he has done a thing in the pros.

  • Foghorn Leghorn

He just wants to play. I cant blame him.

I think he is literally, no hyperbole, one of the worst players in the NBA. He will keep getting a chance to play because he was a high draft pick and everyone will hope to strike gold, but there are precious few less-efficient basketball players than Flynn. He just kills his team by virtue of stepping on the court.

probably not a coincidence that these are all places that he could start. with the recent exception of Portland.

Being equal parts Rockets and Cavs fan, what do you get when you can’t shoot, make bad passing decisions and pick up your dribble too frequently? Jonny Flynn. When Dribbling, is an issue as a point guard…

  • The_Real_Shamrock

I never understood the Cavaliers fascination with this guy anyways so this news doesn’t exactly upset me. They could always let Gibson finish his contract if worse comes to worse. I don’t think backup PG should be a priority right now. Resigning Gee would be my next priority.

  • Dombard

I talked to him about a month ago ..he said he wouldnt mind coming here. Then we didn’t get MKG.. :| .. not saying its related but it could be!

  • Vindictive_Pat

No skin off my back… never was a fan of Flynn anyways. Ocassionally good offensive player and lackluster defensive player. Would rather bring back Andre Miller honestly.

Damn, we almost had all the NBAs top 10 draft picks via Saracuse.
