Tribe Shutout for First Time in 2012
June 10, 2012Lubinger: Q&A With Mark Shapiro
June 10, 2012Over the next few weeks, we’re going to hear several names linked to the Cavaliers top draft selection. None of those may be more appealing than Kentucky forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Kidd-Gilchrist, who has been working on in Northeast Ohio recently, had good things to say about both Cleveland and Cavalier point guard Kyrie Irving, according to The Plain Dealer’s Mary Schmitt Boyer.
On Cleveland:
And what does he think of Cleveland after spending so much time here?
“It’s a good city,” he said.
Kidd-Gilchrist’s agent, Rich Paul, a Benedictine graduate and friend and business associate of LeBron James, scheduled workouts in several Cleveland-area gyms, including those at Garfield Heights and Beachwood, for his client leading up to the NBA draft on June 28.
On Irving:
“One of my best friends in life, period,” Kidd-Gilchrist said of Irving, the NBA’s Rookie of the Year this past season. “Just a great guy in life and a leader. He’s a leader on the court. We talk a lot. I would love to play with Kyrie, but if not, oh well. It is what it is.”
The NBA Draft is scheduled for June 28th.

He wants to play for the cavs, make it happen draft this guy!
Yea I really feel like he wants to play for Cleveland with kyrie
The Cavs can’t be happy at 4, they need to do something about it! The Bobcats need more than 1 player, give them anything except Kyrie for the 2nd pick
Two great stories would come from making this trade:
Kyrie and MKG reunited
and Diop gets to retire a Cavalier!
I think everyone expected to go high should want to play for the Cavaliers. I may have some rose colored glasses here, but every other team in the top 10, except Portland, has shown to be fairly-to-mostly inept and without the type of star that Irving is likely to be.
Diop should get a statue outside the Q. Maybe one of him airballing a free throw.
That video actually bums me out. He looks so upset with himself.
