The NFL’s Rookie Symposium was a casualty of the lockout negotiations last year but it’s back again this year. The NFL and NFLPA will be hosting the incoming class of rookie stars and role players in nearby Aurora beginning on Sunday. The Symposium will include a trip to the Pro Football Hall of Fame (perhaps the Outlets as well). Along with all the rookies, there will be plenty of former stars who have run into off-field troubles who are charged with giving educational speeches to the new professionals. That lineup includes:
Scheduled to speak are several players who have experienced serious off-field issues, including Michael Vick, Adam Jones and Michael Irvin. Also on the docket are Terrell Owens, New England’s Devin McCourty, Antonio Freeman, LaVar Arrington, Aeneas Williams, Jamie Dukes, Luther Ellis and Carl Eller.
That’s quite a group to have running around Geauga and Portage County.
