Report: Former Coliseum PA Announcer and radio personality Howie Chizek has died

Sad news coming from Akron tonight as Howie Chizek, WNIR radio host and former Cavaliers PA man has passed away from a heart attack.
Chizek had many signature calls from his time at the Richfield Coliseum. He will be missed.

    Growing up in Akron and being fortunate enough for my father to have season tickets to the Richfield Cavs, Howie Chizek actually became a legened to me. I live in NYC now but whenever I came home my radio was tuned to Howie’s shenangigans. Very rarely agreed with the guy but he was radio class. Major loss to our local radio scene. RIP Howie
