June 27, 2012Travis Hafner will begin a rehab assignment tonight in Columbus. No timetable has been given for his return, but it is safe to say 3-5 games would be about right.
Hafner was placed on the DL May 30th, and underwent a right medial meniscectomy (knee) on the 31st.
It was generally assumed that Hafner would be back right after the All-Star break, but if he has no set-backs on his rehab assignment, it would appear Hafner will be back for a week before the break.
Hafner is hitting .242 with an .819 OPS, 6 home runs and 24 RBI in 39 games this season.

Hmm…That mean Chiz and Hannahan will stay up?
Depending on who has the more options but I wouldn’t count out someone from the pen being sent down…looking at you Hagadone.
Yeah..Rogers has really impressed me so far. He has done well holding, but historically does not keep things together the longer he goes.
Hopefully he’s rehabbing for his new post-trade team.
Not to go off the rails here but has there been any word on a Sizemore rehab citing?
I’m curious as to how much longer until we here the “well he gave it a go, but his body just couldn’t take the playing time so we have officially parted ways” speech from Antzy.
