Our ol’ Brendan Bowers shares his thoughts on the Cavaliers getting his favorite prospect: “As our show ended, and we made our way over to the Q for Chris Grant’s media availability, I allowed my personal dreams of MKG rocking a Cavs uniform for the next ten years to die a slow and painful death. More painful than any dance move could ever inflict. No way he’s there at four, I thought, he’s the second best player in this Draft. Then all of the sudden I realized who it was picking second, it was the closest thing I’ve ever had to an epiphany. The same guy who drafted Kwame Brown first overall; things began to feel markedly better. As great a player Bobcats owner Michael Jordan was, he’s equally bad as an NBA executive. Anything and everything is back in play at pick number two I decided.” [Brendan Bowers/Cleveland.com]

One of my top five Cavs blogs has a nice back-and-forth on the draft right now. This was one of my favorite lines: “Conrad: Yeah. If MKG is there, you take him. If he’s not there and Beal is available, you take Beal. But like you said, there’s no real way to know who the Bobcats or Wizards will take. It’s possible that both Beal and Kidd-Gilchrist are off the board. That’s when it gets tough.” [Conrad Kaczmarek/Fear the Sword]

Another one of the better Cavalier writers out there shares his mock draft. I could live with a combination of Florida’s Bradley Beal, Illinois’ Meyers Leonard, Memphis’ Will Barton and Norfolk State’s Kyle O’Quinn. I really liked Beal and Barton all season, Leonard flashes some good signs and O’Quinn was a beast in that second round NCAA upset. [Sam Amico/Fox Sports Ohio]

Yikes. This got ugly real fast: “The Michigan-Ohio State rivalry has been a hot topic all week, but it hit an all-time low when Harrison Watson, an entrepreneur from Columbus, Ohio, posted a message on Twitter offering a $2,000 bounty to permanently injure Michigan commit Logan Tuley-Tillman.” [Graham Watson/Dr. Saturday]

I’ve thought about this a few times this year, and this is a nice little look at the Indians’ impressive base stealing in 2012: “Theft is a crime that will usually land a person in jail. Time in the slammer is not something the Cleveland Indians need to worry about for any of their players at the moment, but stealing has become a way of life for the team. Opposing teams have been sentenced this season to watching the Indians turn many a single into a double. Cleveland has been able to manufacture runs without a big bop because the club is among the league leaders when it comes to stolen bases and stolen base accuracy.” [Craig Gifford/Did The Tribe Win Last Night]

Mmm. I’ve talked about Steven Wright several times this year in the Wednesday Wahoos, and this is a fun story about him with some good quotes: “Wright used to just fool around with his knuckleball and leave it at that, but in 2010 he started using it in game situations. ‘I just started throwing it as a hit and miss pitch,’ Wright said. ‘Then last year, 2011 Spring Training, I started working with [Tom] Candiotti and he said I should just start throwing it.’” [Jim Piascik/Indians Prospect Insider]

This is a nice lil’ Q-and-A with Browns QB Brandon Weeden, including his thoughts about draft day: “‘It was crazy. I was out in New York for the draft, and that morning, I wanted to spend with my family. Had a little get-together, and [Browns GM Tom Heckert] called me at the 20th pick and told me they were picking me at 22. There were a lot of emotions. My parents’ house went crazy. We had a lot of fun that night. I didn’t sleep much that night.’” [Jon Gold/ESPN Playbook]
