Something tells me the Tribe’s bats will sad to leave the friendly confines of Camden Yards. Shelley Duncan hit his second home run in as many days, Aaron Cunningham hit his first homer of the season, and Justin Masterson scattered five hits over seven innings to get the win 6-2. All-Star Chris Perez pitched a scoreless 9th (not a save situation!) for the Indians, who improved to 40-38 on the season. Future statue Jim Thome went 0-4 with two strikeouts in his Baltimore debut. The Indians amassed 32 runs and 55 hits over the four game series, which they took from the Orioles three games to one.
The Indians begin a seven-game homestand on Monday against the Angels (three games vs Anaheim, four games vs Tampa Bay). Jered Weaver will start the opener for Anaheim while the Wahoos will counter with Ubaldo Jimenez. First pitch is 7:05 PM.

Even though he homered today, I still don’t know why Aaron Cunningham is on the team. Masterson hadn’t given up a hit until Cunningham misjudged a play in center field, and on the season is batting .171? ouch. But on a positive note, it’s great to see some offense for a change. I’d say that when Santana is back in the lineup, keep him at 1st and play Marson behind the plate.
offense against a LHP at that.
Kotchman has a better glove, so I’d put Santana at DH some nights to keep Lou active. but, basically rotate him at DH, 1B, C and keep everyone getting their rest nights. should work out pretty well.
Shoulda, woulda, coulda swept…oh well. Roll Tribe!
Agreed on Cunningham – has no business on the major league roster. I’d rather see any other minor leaguer at least given the chance to fail. They literally could not be any worse.
I would rather see laporta in lf than Cunningham. I was at the game yesterday and it is no better in person. I believe he made 6 of 27 outs yesterday
Even laporta!!
Only problem is LaPorta can’t play CF so that would leave the Tribe without a backup who can play center.
Don’t look now, but Masterson’s ERA is back under 4.00.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhh
