Carlos Santana back in Tribe line-up today

After missing the last four games with back troubles, Cleveland catcher Carlos Santana will be back in the line-up today as the Indians open a series against the Angels.

Santana will hit fifth and catch tonight as Ubaldo Jimenez faces off against Jared Weaver.

I would ride the hot hand and start Laser Lou Marson and use Santana as DH. I hope Santana proves me wrong Lou has been hitting too well to be relegated to the bench and Santana has been scuffling for a while.

I was worried when I saw Weaver was pitching, but thank God Duncan is in the lineup! Marson is our best hitter, so keep him on the bench and plan Duncan. Hopefully we don’t lose by more than 5…

    Marson is our best hitter?

We have so few major league baseball players.

Damon, Kotchman, and Duncan just put up 3 of the worst at bats imaginable with bases loaded and nobody out.

That’s the difference between pros and not pros. Ubaldo pitches great. He hits a batter…that batter proceeds to steal, get moved over, and score on a sac fly.

The Indians load the bases with nobody out and can’t execute anything. That’s why no one comes to the ballpark, Chris.

Robinson Cano hit a meek grounder back to the pitcher (Peavy) on Sunday w/ bases loaded, 0 outs. Peavy turned easy double-play (home, 1B).
    it’s baseball.

  • Jack

    Yep, that’s comparable…

  • Jack

Bottom of the first vs. critical moment. 1 batter versus 3 batters in a row. All around weak game vs. goes on to hit a game-winning 412 foot 2-run homer.

  • mgbode

same exact situation, so I’d say it’s comparable. runs in the 1st inning count just the same as runs later.
the reason I used Cano is that it happened yesterday & he’s a great hitter. showing that it happens to everyone. the fact that he hit a 412ft HR later just reinforces that point.
